Hicks went 2-for-5 with a walk, a double, two runs scored and an RBI in Wednesday's win over the Guardians.

The two-bagger was Hicks' first extra-base hit since July 5, ending a 26-game stretch in which he'd managed a .222/.318/.222 slash line. The 26-year-old rookie continues to see regular playing time against right-handed pitching while bouncing between catcher, first base and DH, but he isn't offering much fantasy value.

Raleigh is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Baltimore.

Following a stretch of three straight games with a home run, Raleigh has gone 0-for-8 in the first two games of the series. He'll get a rare breather in Thursday's series finale, with Mitch Garver getting a turn at catcher in Raleigh's stead.

Smith went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI and two walks in a loss to the Angels on Wednesday.

Smith helped the Dodgers get off to a fast start with a two-run home run in the first inning. He added another RBI on a bases-loaded walk in the fourth, but the backstop's production wasn't enough to prevent his team from getting swept in the season series. The good news for Smith is that he appears to be getting his swing back; since gong 0-for-13 during a four-game hitless streak from Aug. 4 to Aug. 10, the All-Star catcher has gone 3-for-8 with two walks across his subsequent three games.

Goodman went 1-for-1 with a two-run home run Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Goodman began the game on the bench but pinch hit in the ninth inning with the Rockies down by one. He delivered his 24th home run of the season to put Colorado up for good, and he now has seven home runs across 20 games since the All-Star break. Goodman is in the midst of a breakout campaign, as he now owns a .251 ISO and .362 wOBA across 427 plate appearances.

Diaz went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in Wednesday's 4-1 win over Boston.

Diaz amassed at least three RBI for the second time this month and the seventh time this season. The backstop now has four multi-hit games in August, and he's been a steady bat in the middle of Houston's order throughout 2025. Since the beginning of July, Diaz is batting a strong .281 with seven homers, seven doubles and 19 RBI covering 128 at-bats (34 games).

Manager Craig Counsell said after Wednesday's win over Toronto that Amaya was diagnosed with a sprained left ankle, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Amaya needed to be carted off the field after stepping awkwardly on first base in the eighth inning. X-rays came back negative after the incident, but Counsell confirmed that the catcher's sprained ankle will be enough to force him back on the injured list just two days after returning from a significant oblique injury. Carson Kelly and Reese McGuire will likely resume splitting reps behind the plate while Amaya is out.

Amaya was removed from Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays due to a leg injury, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Amaya landed awkwardly on first base while legging out an infield single in the eighth inning and had to leave the game on a cart. The 26-year-old backstop was playing in his first game since returning from an oblique injury that sidelined him for nearly three months, and although the Cubs have yet to determine the severity of his latest injury, he's likely destined to spend more time on the IL.

Contreras went 2-for-3 with two walks and four RBI in Wednesday's 12-5 win over the Pirates.

Both knocks were singles but Contreras did plenty of damage with them, driving in runs in the fourth and sixth innings before drawing a bases-loaded walk in the seventh. The star backstop has at least one RBI in five straight games and multi-hit performances in four straight, and over 24 contests since the All-Star break, he's batting .323 (31-for-96) with five doubles, six homers, 19 runs and 22 RBI.

Jensen will not be in Triple-A Omaha's lineup Wednesday due to a right wrist contusion, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Jensen suffered the injury after his hand hit a batting helmet on a throw during Tuesday's game. The 22-year-old top prospect is considered day-to-day, and he could return to the lineup before the end of the week. Jensen is slashing .252/.358/.574 with two steals, eight doubles, nine home runs and 26 RBI over 135 plate appearances in Triple-A this season.

Narvaez is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Houston.

Narvaez started each of the first two games of the series, but he'll take a seat for the finale. Connor Wong is catching and batting ninth in the rubber match.
