Adley Rutschman C | BAL
Orioles' Adley Rutschman: Slugs 18th homer
Rutschman went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Friday's 11-2 win over the Red Sox.
The backstop played a big role in the rout, and he capped his night by hooking a solo shot off John Schreiber just inside Pesky's Pole in the eighth inning. Rutschman is having a strong finish to his second MLB season, slashing .290/.367/.443 through 33 games since the beginning of August with four of his 18 homers and 23 of his 70 RBI on the season.

Elias Diaz C | KC
Rockies' Elias Diaz: Blasts three-run homer
Diaz went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Friday's 9-8 loss to the Giants.
Diaz went 12 games between homers, hitting a modest .244 with three doubles and five RBI in that span. The catcher's blast put the Rockies ahead in the seventh inning, but their offense stalled out while the Giants rallied over the next two frames. Diaz is slashing .267/.313/.419 with 14 long balls, 67 RBI, 42 runs scored and a stolen base over 124 contests this season.

Blake Sabol C | BOS
Giants' Blake Sabol: Swats 12th homer
Sabol went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Friday's 9-8 win over the Rockies.
Playing time has been fairly sparse for Sabol lately, but he's gone 7-for-23 (.304) across his last eight contests. His homer Friday was his 12th of the season, but his first since July 19. The rookie catcher/outfielder is at a .245/.304/.404 slash line with 40 RBI, 34 runs scored, two stolen bases and nine doubles through 97 contests. Sabol and Joey Bart will likely split time behind the plate while Patrick Bailey (concussion) is out -- Bart has drawn the start at catcher in two of the three games Bailey's missed so far.

Logan O'Hoppe C | LAA
Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Pops homer in loss
O'Hoppe went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Guardians.
O'Hoppe has homered three times over 16 games since he returned from a shoulder injury. The catcher's sixth-inning blast got the Angels within a run Friday, but they couldn't pull even. He's up to seven long balls with a poor .223/.285/.446 slash line, 17 RBI and 10 runs scored across 123 plate appearances.

Willson Contreras 1B | BOS
Cardinals' Willson Contreras: Crushes 18th homer
Contreras went 1-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Friday's win over the Reds.
Contreras opened the scoring in the first inning with a mammoth 113.6-mph, 440-foot blast off Andrew Abbott. It was his ninth career home run at Great American Ball Park, his favorite park to hit homers in behind Wrigley Field (66) and Busch Stadium (12). Contreras may finally be settling into his new home in St. Louis as he has hit .268 with seven home runs, 13 runs and 18 RBI over 93 at-bats since Aug. 1.

Cal Raleigh C | SEA
Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Hits solo homer
Raleigh went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's loss to the Rays.
Raleigh tied his home run total from last year (27) with his 418-foot blast off Taj Bradley in the fifth inning. The Seattle backstop leads all catchers in home runs, with Francisco Alvarez being the next closest at 22. Raleigh is slashing .235/.315/.475 through 125 games this season.
-
Rene Pinto C | PHI
Rays' Rene Pinto: Crushes fourth homer
Pinto went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Friday's 7-4 win over Seattle.
Pinto's 108.7-mph home run in the seventh inning tied things up and chased George Kirby from the game. The backstop has seen increased playing time since Francisco Mejia was outrighted to Triple-A Durham on Aug. 28. Pinto has started six games and hit three home runs since then. He should continue to split time behind the plate with Christian Bethancourt.

Christian Bethancourt C | CHC
Rays' Christian Bethancourt: Sitting Friday
Bethancourt isn't in the Rays' lineup Friday against Seattle.
Bethancourt will take a seat Friday after going 0-for-7 with five strikeouts across his last three games. Rene Pinto will start behind the dish and bat ninth.

Danny Jansen C | TEX
Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Undergoes surgery
Jansen underwent surgery Thursday to insert a pin into his fractured right middle finger, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Jansen's procedure will officially keep him out for the remainder of the regular season. The Blue Jays have not yet ruled out a return during the postseason, so there's still a chance Jansen is able to aid Toronto in its playoff run. He will finish the 2023 campaign with a .228/.312/.474 slash line alongside 17 homers and 53 RBI across 301 plate appearances.
