Mejia is expected to earn a promotion to the big-league club prior to Friday's doubleheader against the Tigers, Paul Hoynes of Cleveland.com reports.

Mejia has spent this entire season with Double-A Akron, batting .297/.346/.490 with 14 home runs and 52 RBI. The catcher is the top prospect in Cleveland's organization and recorded a 50-game hitting streak in 2016. Moving forward, Mejia will get his first taste of the majors over the next month and will likely see some action as the Indians continue to pull away from the pack in the AL Central. Once the regular season ends, Mejia is set to get some opportunities at the hot corner in the Arizona Fall League.

Narvaez is out of the lineup against the Twins on Thursday.

Narvaez will occupy a spot on the bench for the third time in the past four games as Kevan Smith draws another start behind the plate. Throughout the course of August, Narvaez is hitting .275/.393/.353 with four RBI in 17 games.

McCann went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, a walk and two runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Rockies.

Since the Tigers traded away Alex Avila before the July 31 trade deadline, McCann has been a steady presence at catcher. He's batting .265 this month with three home runs and 10 RBI, and he should remain a serviceable fantasy option in most formats moving forward.

Wallach was recalled from Triple-A Louisville on Thursday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Wallach was called up by the Reds to make his major-league debut last weekend, but turned in an 0-for-4 performance in his only start Sunday. With Tucker Barnhart landing on the paternity list Thursday morning, Wallach will return as an emergency catching option behind Stuart Turner.

Barnhart has been placed on the paternity list, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Barnhart has caught the last two games for the Reds, but he'll be out of action for the series finale and will likely miss a game or two when the team heads to Pittsburgh. Chad Wallach was called up from the minors to take Barnhart's roster spot for the time being, and Wallach should split catching duties with Stuart Turner until Barnhart returns.

Garver went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, a walk and three runs scored against the White Sox on Wednesday.

Just like that, he doubled his career hit total, although Garver's MLB career before Wednesday amounted to just six games and 20 plate appearances. The 26-year-old backstop crushed Triple-A pitching this year -- .291/.387/.541 with 17 homers and 29 doubles in 88 games -- but he's just a relatively little-used backup for the Twins right now. Still, owners in dynasty formats should take note of Garver's potential, and this effort might help him carve out some more playing time while Jason Castro (concussion) remains on the DL. After all, Chris Gimenez doesn't provide very impressive competition for at-bats.

Realmuto went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple in Wednesday's 4-0 loss to the Nationals.

He was the only Marlin to have much success against Stephen Strasburg, but Strasburg had the last laugh in the ninth inning when he got Realmuto to ground out with a runner on first base to help preserve his shutout. The performance snapped a 5-for-41 skid (.122) over his last 10 games, and it's perhaps not a coincidence that Realmuto's bat perked up on a day when he was getting a partial rest by playing first base instead of catcher. With Miami still in the NL wild-card picture, though, manager Don Mattingly can't afford to take one of his young stars out of the lineup completely too often.

Grandal is out of Wednesday's lineup against the Diamondbacks.

After starting the last five games, Grandal takes a seat against southpaw Robbie Ray. Austin Barnes gets the start behind the dish, hitting seventh.

Contreras (hamstring) was doing catching drills behind the plate prior to Wednesday's game against the Pirates, Bruce Miles of the Daily Herald reports.

Contreras was able to go through drills at his position for the first time since landing on the disabled list a few weeks ago. He was also out doing another round of agility drills, and appears to be passing all the tests while working his way back from the hamstring injury. Contreras is expected to need another couple weeks before he's ready to rejoin the team, while Alex Avila and Rene Rivera continue to man the position in his stead.

D'Arnaud is not in the lineup Wednesday against Cincinnati.

D'Arnaud will retreat to the bench in favor of Kevin Plawecki, who is set to catch Rafael Montero and bat fifth in the order. Since Aug. 17, d'Arnaud is hitting .281/.324/.375 with one RBI and five runs scored.
