Sanchez is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Orioles, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.

Sanchez finds himself on the bench after being in the starting lineup for the last 10 games, going 6-for-32 with eight walks in 41 plate appearances. Austin Romine returns from a stiff neck to start behind the plate and bat eighth for the Yankees.

Mesorace (neck) returns to the starting lineup Friday in Washington.

Mesoraco has been out since Sept. 3 with neck discomfort. The Mets are carrying four catchers at the moment, so it's unclear how much playing time he'll receive over the final nine games of the season.

Plawecki is not starting Friday against the Nationals.

Plawecki finds himself on the bench for the second time in three games. Devin Mesoraco returns from his neck injury to start behind the plate.

Barnhart is not in the lineup Friday against the Marlins.

Narvaez went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Indians.

Narvaez started a third straight game as Welington Castillo (elbow) remained sidelined and is making the most of this opportunity. The homer was his second in three games, third in his last four, and extended his current hitting streak to five contests. Earlier this summer, Narvaez thrived with consistent at-bats, so he might be a nice play while Castillo's elbow prevents him from playing.

Jansen went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Thursday's 9-8 win over Tampa Bay.

Down 8-2 heading into the ninth inning, Toronto pulled off an incredible comeback, lead by Jansen's three-run slam. Through 71 career at-bats, the rookie catcher has three homers and a .254 average.

McCann is not in the lineup Thursday against the Royals, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

McCann will hit the bench for Thursday's series opener after going 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts Wednesday. In his absence, Grayson Greiner will catch Matt Boyd and hit seventh.

Gomes is not in the lineup against the White Sox on Thursday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Gomes will head to the bench for a regular day off after two straight starts behind the plate. Roberto Perez will catch Josh Tomlin and bat ninth in the order in his place.

Manager Mickey Callaway said Mesoraco (neck) will start Friday against the Nationals, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Mesoraco hasn't played since Sept. 3 due to neck discomfort. Prior to suffering the injury, the backstop hit .213/.295/.374 with 10 homers through 80 games with the Reds and Mets. He'll look to finish the season on a high note now that he's back to full health.
