Garver has not been cleared to throw and will continue as Texas' primary designated hitter, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Garver returned Thursday from a stint on the injured list due to an elbow injury and served as DH in all four games. It's unclear how long it will take before Garver is back behind the plate, so DH is his role for the immediate future. After going hitless in his return, Garver is 3-for-11 over his last three games, including a solo home run Sunday.

Trevino isn't starting in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader against the White Sox.

Trevino started behind the dish in the first game of the twin bill and went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts. Rob Brantly will serve as the starting catcher and bat ninth during Sunday's nightcap.

Wallach is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the A's, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Wallach started the past four games but will head to the bench Sunday with Kurt Suzuki (illness) back from the COVID-19 injured list. Wallach should serve as the Halos' No. 2 catcher until Max Stassi (illness) also makes his return.

Bart will start at catcher and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Padres.

Bart was on the bench for four of the Giants' last five games and appeared to be moving into the No. 2 role behind the plate, but he should now have some temporary security atop the depth chart after Curt Casali (concussion) was placed on the 7-day injured list Saturday. For the season, Bart is batting a disappointing .169 with four home runs in 86 plate appearances.

Higashioka (undisclosed) was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Sunday.

Higashioka will now step away from the team until he clears the league's testing protocols. Rob Brantly will join the big-league roster in a corresponding move and could start Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader since Jose Trevino is behind the plate for the matinee.

The Yankees transferred Rortvedt (knee) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

Rortvedt, who has been on the shelf all season, recently underwent arthroscopic left knee surgery and may not be available until after the All-Star break, so the move to the 60-day IL won't affect his recovery timeline. Instead, the transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for fellow catcher Rob Brantly, who re-signed with the Yankees and had his contract selected from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre when New York placed backstop Kyle Higashioka on the COVID-19-related injured list prior to Sunday's doubleheader with the White Sox.

Diaz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets, Patrick Lyons of TheDNVR.com reports.

Though he rested for the second half of Saturday's doubleheader, Diaz will remain on the bench for the series finale. Rockies manager Bud Black is likely rewarding No. 2 backstop Brian Serven will a second consecutive start after the rookie went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Saturday's 11-3 win in Game 2.

Rutschman went 1-for-3 with a triple and a walk in Saturday's 6-1 loss to the Rays.

Rutschman only had to wait until his third plate appearance to get his first big-league hit, and it was a rare triple for the catcher. He had only three career triples and four stolen bases during his short rise through the minors, so he shouldn't be expected to be much of a speed threat. He'll get to rest his legs Sunday -- the top prospect is batting fifth as the designated hitter in the series finale versus the Rays.

Heim is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Houston.

The 26-year-old started the past four games and will receive a day off in the series finale versus the Astros. Mitch Garver has returned from the injured list but is limited to serving as the designated hitter, so Heim will continue to work as Texas' primary catcher while Sam Huff, who is starting Sunday, operates as the No. 2 option.

Jeffers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Jeffers is 3-for-7 with a double, a walk, two RBI and three runs in his last two contests but will take a seat for the second time in Minnesota's past three games. Gary Sanchez will work behind the plate while Kyle Garlick serves as the designated hitter.
