Contreras went 4-for-5 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 11-4 win over the Cardinals.

The middle third of Atlanta's lineup combined to go 9-for-14, with Contreras playing a key role in the offensive eruption. The 24-year-old's biggest moment was a three-run double in the sixth inning that put his squad up 5-1. He's collected at least one hit in 12 of his last 13 games, batting .339 (19-for-56) with four extra-base hits in that span. For the season, Contreras has posted a .275/.349/.530 slash line with 17 home runs, 37 RBI, 39 runs scored, two stolen bases and 10 doubles through 275 plate appearances.

Trevino underwent X-rays on his foot Friday that came back negative, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Trevino was replaced defensively in the bottom of the ninth inning Friday after being hit by a pitch in the top of the eighth, but he isn't believed to be dealing with any structural damage in his right foot. He should be considered day-to-day for now, while Kyle Higashioka will likely see additional looks behind the plate if Trevino is forced to miss time.

Trevino exited Friday's game against the Athletics in the bottom of the ninth inning due to an apparent foot injury, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.

Trevino was hit by a pitch on his foot in the top of the eighth inning and initially remained in the game, but he was replaced behind the dish in the bottom of the ninth. Prior to his departure, he went 1-for-3. It's not yet clear whether he'll be forced to miss additional time.

Perez was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Perez had been with the team since mid-August, going 2-for-14 at the plate in six games. The Mets will go with the usual two catchers (James McCann and Tomas Nido) for now, clearing space for reliever Tommy Hunter (back) to return from the injured list.

Heineman isn't starting Friday against the Phillies.

Heineman has alternated starts behind the dish with Jason Delay recently and will head to the bench after he went 1-for-2 with a double and a walk Wednesday against Atlanta. Delay is starting at catcher and batting ninth.

Campusano was recalled from Triple-A El Paso on Friday.

Campusano has been in the minors since the start of May but will rejoin the active roster to provide depth behind primary catcher Austin Nola after Jorge Alfaro (knee) was placed on the 10-day injured list. Campusano hit .083 with a run, an RBI and two strikeouts over four big-league games earlier in the year.

Contreras (ankle) is starting behind the plate and batting second Friday against the Brewers.

Contreras hasn't seen the field since Monday due to a left ankle sprain, but he'll rejoin the lineup for Friday's series opener in Milwaukee. Through 16 games in August, the 30-year-old has a .230/.310/.574 slash line with six home runs, 14 RBI and 10 runs scored.

Narvaez isn't starting Friday against the Cubs.

Narvaez has started against just two left-handed pitchers this season and will head to the bench for a second consecutive game with southpaw Justin Steele on the mound for Chicago. Victor Caratini is starting behind the dish and batting eighth.

Stassi will sit for the second straight game Friday against the Blue Jays, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Stassi is stuck in a 1-for-35 slump over his last nine games. Kurt Suzuki started behind the plate Thursday, but it's Matt Thaiss who will get the nod this time around.

Moreno is batting .484 (15-for-31) with four doubles, six RBI and seven runs over seven games for Triple-A Buffalo since returning to the lineup from a thumb injury.

The 22-year-old hasn't homered, but he's otherwise been making a mockery of International League pitching since shaking off a sore right thumb. Moreno held his own in his first crack at the majors earlier this season, but with Danny Jansen and Alejandro Kirk both healthy at the big-league level, the Blue Jays' top catching prospect will have to wait a little longer before he gets another opportunity. It wouldn't be a surprise if Moreno is one of the team's September call-ups, however.
