  • White Sox's Yasmani Grandal: Resting Sunday

Grandal is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

Grandal will take a seat for the series finale after he started in each of the White Sox's last three games, two at catcher and one as a designated hitter. Seby Zavala will get the nod behind the plate Sunday while Jose Abreu handles DH duties.

  • Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Sports walking boot

D'Arnaud (lower leg) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets and is wearing a protective walking boot, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

The 33-year-old had X-rays on his lower right leg come back negative after exiting Game 2 of Saturday's twin bill, and he's now sporting a protective boot. Atlanta's roster moves Sunday didn't include d'Arnaud going on the injured list, so he'll remain on the active roster for now. However, catcher Chadwick Tromp was called up from Triple-A Gwinnett, which indicates the veteran will be unavailable for at least a couple days.

  • Braves' Chadwick Tromp: Contract selected by Atlanta

Tromp had his contract selected by Atlanta on Sunday.

The 27-year-old was designated for assignment in mid-April but will rejoin the big-league roster with Travis d'Arnaud (lower leg) managing an injury. Tromp has yet to appear in a MLB game this year and has a .259/.301/.453 slash line with 12 home runs and 41 RBI in 68 games for Triple-A Gwinnett.

  • Danny Jansen C | TEX

Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Resting Sunday

Jansen is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.

Jansen will be getting some routine maintenance for the series finale after he caught in both of the Blue Jays' previous two contests. Alejandro Kirk will spell Jansen behind the plate.

  • Red Sox's Kevin Plawecki: Sits in favor of McGuire

Plawecki is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Plawecki and Reese McGuire will alternate turns behind the dish for the sixth consecutive game, with both backstops earning three starts apiece during that span. Expect manager Alex Cora to continue deploying a timeshare at catcher until one separates himself from the other from a performance standpoint.

  • Jason Delay C | BOS

Pirates' Jason Delay: Steps out of lineup

Delay is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.

Delay started the past three games after No. 1 catcher Tyler Heineman (groin) landed on the injured list, and the former will receive a day off in the series finale at Baltimore. Jose Godoy will step in behind the plate Sunday.

  • Eric Haase C | CHW

    Tigers' Eric Haase: Exits lineup

Haase is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

Haase will rest for the day game after he started at either catcher or designated hitter in four of the Tigers' past five contests. Tucker Barnhart will check in behind the plate Sunday, while Harold Castro handles DH duties.

  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Not in Sunday's lineup

Realmuto is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

After a three-game hitless streak, Realmuto caught fire offensively the past two contests versus Washington, going 5-for-11 with two homers, two triples, five RBI and four runs, but he'll receive a maintenance day in the series finale. Garrett Stubbs will take over behind the plate for Philadelphia.

  • Guardians' Austin Hedges: Sitting out Sunday

Hedges is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.

Hedges will rest for the day game after he went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored while catching all nine innings of Saturday's 4-1 win. Luke Maile gets the nod behind the dish in Sunday's series finale.

  • Astros' Christian Vazquez: Gets Sunday off

Vazquez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

Vazquez will take a seat for the day game after a night game, allowing Martin Maldonado to receive a turn behind the dish. Through his first three games for Houston since being acquired from Boston at the trade deadline, Vazquez has gone 1-for-8 at the plate.
