Rutschman went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Blue Jays.

Rutschman put the Orioles ahead 2-1 with his fourth-inning blast, but the lead was short-lived. It's been a slow week for Rutschman, who has gone 3-for-20 with a homer and a double over his last six games. The catcher is up to 11 homers, 34 RBI, 61 runs scored and three stolen bases while slashing .251/.358/.447 through his first 95 major-league contests.

Gomes isn't starting Saturday against Colorado.

Gomes is getting a day off after he went 2-for-11 with a double, three RBI, a run and a stolen base over the last three games. P.J. Higgins will start behind the plate and bat fifth.

Sanchez isn't starting the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against Cleveland, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Sanchez started the last four games and went 3-for-16 with a double, two RBI and three strikeouts. Sandy Leon will start behind the dish and bat ninth during the first game of Saturday's twin bill.

Mejia went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI on Friday against the Rangers.

Mejia accounted for the majority of the Rays' offense by delivering an RBI single in the second inning, followed by a run-scoring double four frames later. The performance ended a three-game hitless stretch, spanning 10 at-bats. For the season, Mejia has maintained a .260/.280/.408 line across 271 plate appearances.

Contreras went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, an RBI single and two total runs scored in Friday's win over Philadelphia.

Contreras launched a solo shot in the fourth inning, then sent Austin Riley home on a single in the eighth. The homer was Contreras' 18th of the year and his first since Aug. 24. In six games this month, the catcher has gone 7-for-19 (.368), including five total hits in his last two games. Contreras is now slashing .279/.349/.521 on the season.

Thaiss went 0-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 8-7 win over the Mariners.

Thaiss went without a hit for the third time in his last four games, but he was able to record the first stolen base of his career after a sixth-inning walk. The 27-year-old is slashing .256/.302/.410 with two home runs, four RBI and five runs scored through 43 plate appearances. He's still likely to be limited to backup duties at catcher and first base.

Nola went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, two total RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 12-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Nola popped a solo shot in the second inning and added a sacrifice fly as the Padres poured on more offense in the eighth. The catcher has gone 6-for-17 (.353) over his last six games. The short but productive stretch has raised his season slash line to .248/.321/.325 with four homers, 36 RBI, 37 runs scored, two stolen bases and 12 doubles through 98 contests.

Plawecki was designated for assignment after Friday's 2-1 win over the Royals, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Plawecki started Friday and went 0-for-2 before being lifted for a pinch hitter, and he's now been removed from the big-league roster. The 31-year-old appeared primed to serve as the Red Sox's primary catcher after Christian Vazquez was traded to the Astros, but he's been surpassed on the depth chart by Connor Wong and Reese McGuire. Plawecki has appeared in 60 games this year and has a .219/.291/.290 slash line with one home run and 12 RBI.

Trevino was removed from Friday's game against the Brewers with a right knee bruise.

Trevino took a foul tip off his right knee and initially remained in the contest, but he was eventually forced to exit. The 29-year-old went 0-for-3 before leaving the game and should be considered day-to-day. Kyle Higashioka has taken over behind the plate and should see more action should Trevino be forced to miss any time.

Raleigh is out of the lineup Friday against the Angels due to a jammed left thumb, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

The 25-year-old suffered the injury on a slide into a base, and he'll receive a day off after starting five straight games behind the plate. Raleigh could be available off the bench and should be considered day-to-day.
