Bart is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Marlins.

After making three straight starts at catcher for the Giants, Bart will give way Tuesday to Blake Sabol. David Villar is taking a turn in the designated hitter role.

Soderstrom has played more games at catcher (eight) than first base (three) with Triple-A Las Vegas.

He has been roughly league average (97 wRC+) in the early going, as a .267/.346/.511 slash line is par for the course in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League. However, the fact the A's have continued to stress his development behind the dish is noteworthy, as most evaluators view him as the team's first baseman of the future.

Contreras went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, one RBI and a stolen base in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Contreras was the only Cardinal to log a multi-hit effort. He also swiped third base after his RBI double tied the game at 1-1 in the sixth inning. Aside from a noticeable drop in power (.074 ISO), Contreras is off to a decent start in his St. Louis tenure. He's slashing .241/.317/.315 with no home runs, five RBI, five runs scored, four doubles and two steals through 16 contests.

Raleigh went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in a loss to the Brewers on Monday.

Raleigh squared up on a Corbin Burnes changeup in the second inning and sent it 392 feet to right center for his second round tripper of the season. The blast extended the hard-hitting backstop's on-base streak to five games, and he's now laced six of his 12 hits on the season for extra bases.

Texas manager Bruce Bochy said Monday that Garver (knee) will need about four weeks to recover, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

When asked if Garver would return Wednesday when eligible, Bochy provided a new timeline for the injury, which was originally described as a minor knee sprain. The longer-term recovery for Garver means he may not return until early May.

Campusano was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday with a left thumb sprain.

Campusano jammed his thumb while catching a bullpen session, and the swelling hasn't reduced enough for him to play at this point. Brett Sullivan will remain the backup catcher, while Brandon Dixon was recalled from El Paso to take Campusano's place on the roster.

Smith (concussion) went through a full workout Monday and said that he's hoping to be able to return Thursday against the Cubs, but he doesn't want to rush back, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Smith was placed on the 7-day injured list before Sunday's game, and he told reporters it's the first time that he's ever received a concussion. There's a good chance that the backstop is back before the end of the week, but the Dodgers will understandably take every necessary precaution before Smith is starting games behind the plate.

Wynns is catching and hitting ninth for Monday's game against the Mets, Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA reports.

Wynns will be making his debut with the Dodgers after signing with the club shortly after Will Smith was placed on the concussion injured list. Austin Barnes is expected to serve as Los Angeles' No. 1 catcher for the duration of Smith's absence, but he'll give way to Wynns in the series opener.

Kirk is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Astros.

Danny Jansen will draw the start at catcher while Brandon Belt serves as the Blue Jays' designated hitter with Kirk sitting after he had been included in the lineup in three of the past four games. With an even 8:8 BB:K through his first 13 games of the season, Kirk appears to be seeing the ball well, but it hasn't translated to eye-popping fantasy numbers. He enters Monday's game with a .243 average, one home run, nine RBI and four runs.

Sabol is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

For the fifth time in seven games, the lefty-hitting Sabol will take a seat while the Giants face off against another southpaw (Jesus Luzardo). The Giants' recent lefty-heavy slate has made it difficult to get a handle on whether Sabol will continue to maintain a strong-side platoon role at either catcher or left field, or if he'll start to lose out on opportunities against right-handed pitching after slashing .194/.256/.361 through the first 12 games of his MLB career.
