Ruiz went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 9-3 loss to the Dodgers.

Ruiz has gone 7-for-30 (.233) with two homers and seven RBI over his last nine games. The catcher continues to handle a starting role, though his season numbers are a bit lackluster. He's batting .225 with a .649 OPS, five homers, 20 RBI, 14 runs scored and seven doubles over 46 contests.

Contreras went 1-for-2 with two walks and a two-run home run in Tuesday's 7-2 loss to the Blue Jays.

The 25-year-old gave the Brewers a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning by taking Yusei Kikuchi deep, but it was all the offense Milwaukee could muster. Contreras is up to six homers on the season, but half of them have come in his last six starts -- a stretch in which he's gone 6-for-20 (.300) with seven RBI.

Rogers went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Tuesday's 10-6 loss to the Rangers.

Rogers has been losing playing time to Eric Haase behind the plate lately, but Haase started in left field Tuesday, which opened up a spot for Rogers. He responded with his sixth home run of the season across 35 games. The occasional power is about all that Rogers can be counted on, as he's batting just .161 and striking out nearly 36 percent of the time.

Trevino is hitting eighth and starting at catcher versus the Mariners on Tuesday.

Trevino was reinstated off the 10-day injured list before Tuesday's game against Seattle, and the veteran backstop is in the starting lineup as expected. Trevino has struggled in 2023 with a .598 OPS over 96 at-bats over 30 games, but he should see the majority of reps behind the plate while he's healthy.

Hedges is out of the starting lineup against the Giants on Tuesday.

Hedges will get a night off after going 0-for-3 with an RBI in Monday's blowout loss to San Francisco. Jason Delay is handling backstop duties while Hedges rests.

Trevino (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Randy Miller of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Trevino landed on the injured list May 18 with a left hamstring strain. He figures to resume duties as New York's primary catcher, and his return will send Ben Rortvedt back to Triple-A. Trevino was slashing .267/.267/.267 over his last five games prior to getting injured.

The Yankees optioned Rortvedt to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday, Randy Miller of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Rortvedt is booted from the active roster to make room for Jose Trevino with Trevino coming off the 10-day injured list. In five games with the Yankees, Rortvedt went 2-for-7 while scoring a pair of runs. He'll head to Triple-A to provide emergency depth for the Yankees.

Bethancourt isn't in the Rays' lineup Tuesday against the Cubs, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Bethancourt has been seeing the ball well lately, logging a 1.133 OPS across 15 plate appearances over the past week. He'll get a day off Tuesday in favor of Francsico Mejia, who will bat ninth.

Smith is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Nationals.

This looks to be a routine night off for Smith, who played the full game at catcher Monday in the Dodgers' 6-1 defeat of Washington. Austin Barnes will handle catching duties and hit ninth Tuesday versus the Nats.

Raleigh isn't in Seattle's lineup Tuesday against the Yankees.

After snapping a three-game hitting streak Monday, Raleigh will get a day to rest Tuesday. Tom Murphy will instead serve as the Mariners' backstop and bat seventh.
