  • Eric Haase C | SF

Tigers' Eric Haase: Crushes two homers

Haase went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Monday's 4-1 win over Seattle.

Haase had just one homer in 65 career plate appearances entering Monday's game. He opened the game's scoring with a solo shot in the second before adding an insurance run with another homer in the ninth. He's 5-for-17 with four extra-base hits since being promoted from Triple-A Toledo.

  • Mitch Garver C | SEA

Twins' Mitch Garver: Diagnosed with bruised knee

Garver left Monday's game against the White Sox due to a right knee contusion, Megan Ryan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Garver is being considered day-to-day following the injury. He'll likely be re-evaluated Tuesday morning before the team provides another update on the backstop's status.

Twins' Mitch Garver: Leaves game early

Garver was removed from Monday's game against the White Sox due to a right knee injury, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Garver took a foul ball off his right knee early in the contest, and he was ultimately pulled after three frames. He was replaced behind the dish by Willians Astudillo (hand), who is also banged up at the moment.

  • Sean Murphy C | ATL

Athletics' Sean Murphy: Multi-hit effort in win

Murphy went 2-for-4 with an RBI single, a double and a run in a win over the Twins on Sunday.

Murphy boosted his average back over the Mendoza Line for the first time since May 8 with Sunday's multi-hit effort, his fifth of the season. The backstop has now hit safely in four consecutive starts, with three of his five hits during that stretch going for extra bases (two doubles, one home run).

  • Red Sox's Kevin Plawecki: Swats first home run

Plawecki went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a strikeout in Sunday's 6-5 loss to the Angels.

Plawecki had been on the bench in each of the last six contests, but he had a solid day at the plate Sunday and blasted his first home run of 2021. The 30-year-old should continue to serve mainly in a depth role behind Christian Vazquez going forward.

  • Gary Sanchez DH | MIL

Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Homers in first inning

Sanchez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a strikeout in Sunday's 10-6 loss to the Orioles.

Sanchez was part of a four-run rally in the first inning Sunday with his fifth home run of the season, but the Yankees were unable to pick up the win. Sanchez has now started in each of the last four games, and he's hitting .193 with 11 runs and 10 RBI this year.

  • Royals' Salvador Perez: Records RBI

Perez went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a walk in Sunday's loss against the White Sox.

Perez was removed from Saturday's win over the White Sox with groin tightness, but the injury wasn't serious and the star catcher found himself in the lineup once again, though he played as a designated hitter and was later subbed for in the top of the eighth after drawing a walk. Perez has hit safely in five of the Royals' last six games.

  • Rays' Francisco Mejia: Back on active roster

Mejia (ribs) was activated from the 10-day injured list Sunday, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

Mejia reported significant improvement with his left intercostal strain and will end up returning after the minimum. Kevan Smith was designated for assignment. A top prospect in the Cleveland and San Diego systems, Mejia has failed to live up to that billing, but he's off to a great start this season (.300/.348/.450) and should slot back in to the No. 1 catcher role for Tampa Bay.

  • Red Sox's Christian Vazquez: Receives breather Sunday

Vazquez is not in the lineup Sunday versus the Angels, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

Vazquez started the previous six games and will receive the day off for Sunday afternoon's series finale. Kevin Plawecki will step in behind the plate and bat eighth for Boston.

  • Royals' Salvador Perez: Dealing with groin tightness

Perez was removed from Saturday's win over the White Sox with groin tightness, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.

The 31-year-old made his mark before exiting the contest, as he went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run Saturday. Perez was apparently already lobbying manager Mike Matheny to be in the lineup for Sunday's series finale, so the injury doesn't appear to be a serious concern.
