Perez left Tuesday's game against the Orioles with an apparent injury after he was hit in the glove in the eighth inning, Pete Grathoff of The Kansas City Star reports. He went 2-for-3 with two home runs and three total RBI before exiting.

Perez was hit right in the hand by Anthony Santander's backswing, and he was unable to continue. The backstop was having a big day behind the plate with the pair of homers before leaving the contest. Freddy Fermin has taken over behind the plate.

Angels general manager Perry Minasian told reporters Tuesday that Stassi (personal/hip) remains without a timetable, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Stassi has missed the entirety of the 2023 season while dealing with a family issue as well as a hip injury he picked up right before Opening Day, and the team isn't sure when he might return. if and when he does rejoin the Halos, the veteran catcher has a chance to get reps for the Angels behind the plate with Logan O'Hoppe (shoulder) out for at least the next four months.

Garver (knee) took swings at Globe Life Field during pregame Tuesday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Trevino opened the scoring in the contest with a 425-foot solo shot off Cal Quantrill. It was the catcher's third long ball of the season and his second in three games. Trevino has a modest .242/.266/.419 slash line on the season, but he's been swinging well of late, slashing .333/.333/.667 with a pair of homers and two RBI over his past five contests.

Kirk is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox.

Even though he produced five hits over his two starts this past weekend against the Mariners, Kirk will end up sitting for the second time in three days. Kirk still appears to be the Blue Jays' nominal No. 1 catcher, but Toronto remains incentivized to keep backup Danny Jansen involved due to Jansen's superior work on the defensive end.

The Guardians selected Fry's contract from Triple-A Columbus on Monday.

Fry, 27, has hit .289/.381/.478 with two homers for Columbus this season. He's played first base, third base and second base this season and also has past experience at catcher. Fry will be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game.

Wong is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

After catching in both of the Red Sox's past two games, Wong will get a breather for the series opener. Reese McGuire will form a battery with starting pitcher Corey Kluber on Monday.

Raleigh went 2-for-4 with a pair of two-run home runs, a walk and an additional run in an extra-inning win over the Blue Jays on Sunday.

Raleigh was the most impactful contributor on a prolific afternoon for the Mariners offense. The hard-hitting backstop's pair of round trippers both came at critical times as well, with his eighth-inning shot to right center plating Jarred Kelenic to bring Seattle within a run and his 408-foot blast to right in the 10th snapping an 8-8 tie and eventually proving to be the game-winning hit. Raleigh pushed his OPS over the .800 threshold (.801) with Sunday's power breakout, and he now has eight RBI in the last nine contests.

Grandal went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer and two runs scored in Sunday's 12-9 victory over the Rays.

Grandal sent a blast to straightaway center in the sixth inning to put the White Sox back in front 3-2. He also reached after being hit by a pitch and later scored as part of a seven-run ninth inning. It was his third long ball of the year, and he's well on his way to surpassing last year's total of only five home runs. The 34-year-old is now slashing .241/.323/.446 with 11 extra base hits, nine RBI, eight runs, and an 8:22 BB:K over 93 plate appearances.

Bethancourt went 1-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI in Sunday's 12-9 loss to the White Sox.

Bethancourt was quieted at the plate until taking Kendall Graveman deep in the eighth for his fifth home run of the season. The 31-year-old plated his second run of the game the following inning on a sacrifice fly. Bethancourt had a career-high 11 home runs, 34 RBI and 39 runs scored a season ago and seems well on his way to surpassing those marks barring any sort of injury. He's now slashing .250/.303/.567 with nine extra base hits, 11 RBI, 12 runs and a 5:17 BB:K over 66 plate appearances.
