Wells is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Wells will bow out of the starting nine for the series finale after he handled catching duties for the Yankees in each of the past four games. J.C. Escarra will step in for Wells behind the dish.

Raleigh is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

It's just the second day off this season for Raleigh, who started the previous 28 games and clubbed 14 homers with a 1.155 OPS during that stretch. Mitch Garver will step in behind the plate to catch for George Kirby in the series finale at Anaheim.

The Athletics acquired Wynns from the Reds on Sunday in exchange for cash considerations.

The 34-year-old was designated for assignment by the Reds on Friday but will remain on a 40-man roster with the A's. Wynns has a 1.142 OPS with three homers in 18 big-league games this season and will provide the Athletics with some veteran catching depth.

Jeffers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

Jeffers will get a routine breather for the afternoon game, allowing Christian Vazquez to receive a turn behind the dish. Over his last six contests, Jeffers has gone 5-for-20 with a home run, a double, three walks, four runs and two RBI.

Quero is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Quero will hit the bench against a righty (Michael Lorenzen) for the second time in the series, and he looks as though he's falling into a timeshare at catcher with Kyle Teel. Given that Teel bats from the left side and Quero is a switch hitter, an even split of the workload is more likely than a strict platoon.

Caratini is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

With Jeremy Pena getting a day off from playing shortstop but staying in the starting nine at designated hitter, the Astros won't have a lineup spot available for Caratini. The 31-year-old has been a near-everyday player for Houston with Yordan Alvarez (hand) unavailable and is batting .272/.333/.383 with two home runs, eight RBI and five runs since May 5.

Jansen is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Jansen and Matt Thaiss have now alternated turns behind the dish over the last eight games. After going 2-for-23 with 10 strikeouts over a stretch of seven games, Jansen broke out in Saturday's 11-10 loss, finishing 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two RBI and two additional runs.

Jansen went 3-for-4 with a double, a two-run home run and three total runs scored during Saturday's 11-10 extra-inning loss against the Marlins.

The bottom of the lineup ruled the day for the Rays, and Jansen was a big part of it with his second three-hit game of the season. The 30-year-old is slashing .200/.320/.354 with five home runs and 14 RBI this year.

Wells went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and four RBI in Saturday's loss to the Red Sox.

Wells tormented Boston ace Garrett Crochet, tagging the fireballer for a three-run homer in the second inning and an RBI double in the fourth. That helped New York keep the game close, but the Red Sox eventually pulled away for the win. Wells is tied for third among big-league catchers with 10 long balls this season and is tied for second at the position with 36 RBI.

MacIver is expected to have an expanded role at catcher while Shea Langeliers (oblique) is sidelined, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

MacIver was called up to the majors May 23 after dominating at Triple-A, where he slashed .389/.469/.548 with 30 RBI. Since debuting May 25, the 28-year-old has batted .227/.261/.273 with two RBI over seven games and 22 at-bats. With Shea Langeliers out due to an oblique strain, the Athletics appear likely to give MacIver a chance to prove himself over Jhonny Pereda for the time being.
