Leon is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Leon's offensive struggles continue as he is 3-for-38 in 43 plate appearances over his last 16 games. Christian Vazquez (finger) will enter the starting lineup in his return from the disabled list.

Perez (thumb) is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Orioles, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

Perez suffered the thumb injury in Tuesday's game against Detroit and was held out of Friday's lineup. Cameron Gallagher garners another start behind the plate for the Royals, while manager Ned Yost said he expects Perez to be sidelined for about a week, Flanagan reports. The Royals can afford to not move the 28-year-old to the disabled list with expanded rosters for the final month of the season.

Narvaez (finger) is starting behind the dish and hitting seventh Saturday against the Red Sox.

Narvaez missed the previous three games with a finger ligament strain, but he's been receiving treatment every day and is apparently feeling good enough to rejoin the starting nine. The 26-year-old is hitting a solid .288/.378/.438 across 79 games this season.

McCann is not in the lineup Saturday against the Yankees.

McCann will retreat to the bench after starting the first two games of the series, going 2-for-9 with a double and five strikeouts in those contests. Grayson Greiner is starting behind the dish and hitting seventh Saturday.

Sanchez (groin) was activated from the disabled list Saturday. He is starting at catcher and hitting fifth.

Sanchez has been cleared to rejoin the starting nine after catching nine innings back-to-back days for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Seeing as the backstop has appeared in just three games since June 24 due to injuries, the Yankees figure to handle him with care down the stretch. Sanchez, who is hitting .188/.283/.416 with 14 homers over 66 games this season, will face southpaw Daniel Norris in his first game back.

Vazquez (finger) was activated from the 10-day disabled list Saturday.

Vazquez is back with the Red Sox after spending nearly two months on the disabled list following finger surgery. Prior to fracturing his pinkie, Vazquez hit just .213/.249/.300 across 60 games, so he may be squeezed for playing time down the stretch with the emergence of Blake Swihart.

Gallagher went 2-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's 9-2 win over the Orioles.

Getting the start in place of Sal Perez (thumb) and hitting ninth, Gallagher connected on his first homer of the year and just the second of his brief big-league career. Perez's injury isn't thought to be too serious, but Gallagher will pick up extra playing time at least through the weekend while the veteran catcher recuperates.

Garver went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and four RBI in Friday's 10-7 win over the Rangers.

It's his first multi-hit performance since July 30, but Garver still finishes up August hitting a respectable .261 (18-for-69) with two homers and 14 RBI in 20 games. The 27-year-old should see the bulk of the action behind the plate for the Twins in September as he looks to improve on his .267/.337/.422 slash line.

Narvaez is dealing with a finger ligament strain on his right hand, James Fegan of The Athletic Chicago reports.

This helps explain the backstop's absence from the starting lineup over the past three games. He's apparently receiving treatment on his finger every day, and manager Rick Renteria indicated he wouldn't have any restrictions when he returns. Narvaez should be considered day-to-day. Kevan Smith is starting behind the dish Friday.

Perez was held out of Friday's lineup due to a thumb injury, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

Perez suffered the injury during Tuesday's contest against Detroit, which explains why he's been left out of the starting lineup the past two games. Cameron Gallagher will serve as the catcher in his place while Meibrys Viloria is with the team on the taxi squad. Perez should be considered day-to-day moving forward.
