Narvaez went 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple, two RBI and a run scored in the 7-4 loss to Toronto on Sunday.

The lefty-hitting backstop finished just a double shy of the cycle in one of his best performances of the season. Narvaez has had a strong July, hitting three of his four home runs during the month alongside a .391 (18-for-46) batting average. However, Welington Castillo (suspension) is eligible to return from suspension at earliest Aug. 24, after which he'll bump Narvaez back to the No. 2 role.

Stassi is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rangers.

Stassi started the last two games behind the plate, even though the newly acquired Martin Maldonado was available for both contests. While he'll give way to Maldonado on Sunday, it appears Stassi still may have a chance to retain the primary catching role, though it's more likely manager A.J. Hinch will go with some sort of timeshare arrangement behind the plate.

Garver is out of the lineup Sunday against the Red Sox, Dan Hayes of The Athletic Minnesota reports.

Garver will get a routine breather after making four consecutive starts, which included a 4-for-6, five-RBI performance against the Blue Jays on Wednesday. Bobby Wilson serves as the Twins' catcher in the series finale, working in a battery with Jose Berrios.

Zavala (undisclosed) was reinstated from the minor-league disabled list Saturday, James Fegan of The Athletic Chicago reports.

Zavala is good to go after recovering from an undisclosed injury; he'd been on the shelf since July 16. He's batting .227 with four extra-base hits and six RBI through 17 games at Triple-A Charlotte in 2018.

McCann is not in Saturday's starting nine against the Indians, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

McCann will take a seat after going 1-for-4 with a double and two strikeouts in Friday's series opener. John Hicks is slated to handle the catching duties and bat sixth in his stead.

Moore will head to Triple-A Durham after clearing waivers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Moore was designated for assignment Thursday, and after receiving little interest from other teams around the league, he'll accept his assignment with the Bulls. The 34-year-old backstop is batting .215 with two homers and 22 RBI through 44 games at Triple-A in 2018.

Narvaez will get the day off Saturday against Toronto.

Narvaez has put up solid numbers at the plate this season, as he's slashing .279/.346/.400 with three homers and 17 RBI. Kevan Smith will handle the catching duties and bat seventh with Narvaez getting a day to rest.

Perez went 3-for-4 with a run in a loss to the Orioles on Friday.

On a night when the Rays ultimately took a 15-run beating, Perez was one of the few bright spots. The young backstop has enjoyed a stellar first two games following a trade from the D-Backs, going 4-for-6 with a double and a run. The 25-year-old was slashing a solid .284/.342/.417 with 16 extra-base hits (nine doubles, one triple, six home runs) and 29 RBI at Triple-A Reno before the trade, so he brings some offensive upside to the table. While his current big-league tenure is highly likely to end once Wilson Ramos (hamstring) returns from the disabled list, those plans would naturally change if the latter is the subject of a trade deadline move.

Perez went 1-for-2 in a win over the Orioles on Thursday.

The game marked Perez's big-league debut, which came in short order following his trade from the Diamondbacks. Perez's current tenure may not last very long, as he's expected to head down to Triple-A Durham upon Wilson Ramos' return from his current hamstring injury. However, Perez will continue splitting time at backstop with Jesus Sucre in the interim.

Leon is out of the lineup versus the Twins on Thursday, Evan Drellich of NBC Sports Boston reports.

Leon will receive a standard day off for maintenance purposes after starting Wednesday's game before it got suspended due to inclement weather. In his absence, Blake Swihart will catch Brian Johnson and bat seventh.
