Rangers infield prospect Mike Olt is expected to be activated from the minor-league disabled list Friday, the Dallas Morning News reports. He has been out since April 25 with an eye issue and will return to Double-A Frisco.

Olt has hit .139/.235/.236 in 72 at-bats with Triple-A Round Rock this season.

The Twins announced Thursday that third baseman Trevor Plouffe has officially been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to May 29, which is the day he was activated from the seven-day concussion disabled list.

Plouffe suffered a calf strain before Wednesday's game, and it was severe enough to require another trip to the disabled list. He'll be eligible to return in mid-June.

Plouffe was activated off the 7-day concussion disabled list, Wednesday, and the new disabled-list assignment is not eligible to be backdated to include that seven-day period. Plouffe will be eligible to return in mid-June.

Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe was not in the lineup Thursday against the Brewers, a day after being scratched with a strained calf muscle. The team is hoping Plouffe won't require a disabled-list trip and have had Chris Colabello re-join the team off the roster, according to reports. 

Pirates third baseman Pedro Alvarez was not in the starting lineup Thursday against the Tigers after having his wisdom teeth taken out earlier in the day. It unknown how long he will be out of the lineup as a result of this procedure. Brandon Inge started in his place. 

Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe, who was just activated off the concussion disabled list, was scratched for Wednesday's game against the Brewers due to left calf tightness, FOX Sports reports.

The Twins believe it is just a day to day thing and he is over his concussion issues.

The Twins have activated third baseman Trevor Plouffe from the seven-day concussion disabled list, the club announced Wednesday.

Plouffe took a knee to the head in the club's May 21 game against Atlanta. He passed concussion tests May 24 and will likely be inserted into the lineup for Wednesday's game against Milwaukee.

Brewers shortstop Jean Segura continued to swing a hot bat as he matched a franchise record with six hits -- all singles in Tuesday's 6-5 defeat to the Twins in extras.

Segura finished 6 for 7 to raise his batting average to an NL-leading .366. He is hitting .667 (10 for 15) with four runs scored, one home run and two RBI in his last three games.

Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe (concussion) is on track to be activated off the disabled list Wednesday, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports Tuesday. 

Minnesota will announce the corresponding roster move at that time. Plouffe has an eight-game hitting streak. 

Brewers shortstop Jean Segura brought an 11-game homerless streak to a halt Monday, as he took Twins starter Kevin Correia deep for a solo home run in the sixth inning. He finished the game 2 for 4, in a 6-3 loss.

With how well Segura opened the season, he has mostly managed to avoid falling off in the month of May, thanks to a power surge. Segura posted a .985 OPS in April, thanks to a .367 batting average. His average is down to .330 in May, but he still has a .902 OPS with five home runs.
