  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

    Dodgers' Max Muncy: Platoon continues

Muncy sits for the third straight day Monday against the Reds as the Dodgers face their third consecutive lefty in Cody Reed.

Muncy has now started against every righty while sitting against every lefty over the Dodgers' last 21 games. He actually hasn't demonstrated any noticeable platoon split this season, posting a 155 wRC+ against lefties and a 157 wRC+ against righties, but he appears to be locked into that role going forward. David Freese starts at first base in his place Monday.

  • Matt Duffy 3B | TEX

Rays' Matt Duffy: Heads to bench for series opener

Duffy is not in the lineup Monday against the Indians, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Duffy has started six of the team's eight games in September, slashing a solid .308/.400/.385 with seven RBI over that stretch. He'll head to the bench for Monday's series opener against Corey Kluber and the Indians, with Joey Wendle sliding over to cover third base and Brandon Lowe picking up a start at the keystone.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Sitting versus lefty

Devers is out of the lineup Sunday against the Astros, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports.

The Red Sox will hold out most of their key lefty bats versus Astros southpaw Dallas Keuchel, as Devers will be joined on the bench by Mitch Moreland and Jackie Bradley. Brandon Phillips will check in at third base in Devers' stead.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Receives day off Sunday

Suarez is not in the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Padres, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Suarez will get Sunday off after going 3-for-6 two runs scored through the first two games of the series. Brandon Dixon will start at third base and bat seventh for the Reds.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Sits against left-hander

Muncy is not in the lineup for Sunday's series finale at Colorado, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Muncy will hit the bench for the second straight game against a left-hander with Tyler Anderson starting for the Rockies. David Freese will start at first base and bat fifth.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Hitting leadoff again

Moncada went 1-for-4 with a double in Saturday's 12-3 loss to the Angels.

After hitting out of the lower third of the order for the last 16 games, Moncada was the leadoff hitter for a second straight game Saturday. He was originally moved out of the top spot as a way to take the pressure of the young second baseman, who leads MLB with 193 strikeouts, but his time in the lower third of the order only slightly improved his strikeout rate. It looks like manager Rick Renteria will live with Moncada's struggles in the leadoff spot. Moncada is 31 strikeouts shy of establishing a new single-season record.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Slugs 19th homer

Rendon went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in a 6-5 win over the Cubs during the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.

He's now one shy of his third straight 20-homer campaign and the fourth of his career. Rendon has an impressive .319/.374/.486 slash line in 36 games since the beginning of August as he looks to finish out the season in style.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Launches fifth homer of month

Bregman went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo homer in Saturday's win over the Red Sox.

Bregman's torrid September continued Saturday, as the third baseman launched his fifth home run of the month in just his seventh game. He's hitting an impressive .480/.567/1.280 with 11 RBI and a 3:5 K:BB over that stretch, bringing his season slash line to .299/.401/.563. He also has 30 homers, 97 RBI and 10 stolen bases.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Gets rare day off

Arenado is not starting Saturday against the Dodgers.

Arenado will sit for the first time in nearly a month. His shoulder is not at 100 percent, Jenny Cavnar of AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain reports, but he doesn't believe that the issue is affecting his hitting. Whether or not he's right about that, he certainly hasn't been hitting well lately, as he's hitless in his last three contests and has hit just .128 over his last 10. Ryan McMahon will start at third base in his place.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Not starting Saturday

Muncy is not in the lineup Saturday against the Rockies.

With the lefty Kyle Freeland on the mound, Muncy won't get the chance to hit at Coors Field. David Freese will start at first base.
