LeMahieu did not receive a $17.9 million qualifying offer from the Indians before Friday's deadline, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports.

With prospects Garrett Hampson and Brendan Rodgers knocking on the door of the majors, the Rockies will let LeMahieu hit the open market. The veteran second baseman hit just .276 in 2018 after batting above .300 in the previous three seasons, though he swatted a career-high 15 homers. LeMahieu shouldn't have trouble finding work given his proven track record as a two-way player.

Moustakas declined his 2019 option with the Brewers and elected free agency.

Moustakas will hit the open market for a second consecutive offseason after splitting time with the Royals and Brewers in 2018. The 30-year-old hit a combined .251/.315/.459 with 28 homers and a career-high 95 RBI in 152 games in 2018.

Peterson will be placed on outright waivers by the Orioles on Sunday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

The veteran struggled at the plate for Baltimore this season, slashing just .195/.308/.325 with three home runs and 28 RBI across 93 games. However, he provided the team with ample positional versatility, which is intriguing the team enough to want to re-sign him after the non-tender deadline. Alvarez elected free agency Thursday, Baseball America reports.

Alvarez hit .180/.283/.414 with eight homers across 45 games with the Orioles before being designated for assignment. He'll now hit the open market after finishing the season with Triple-A Norfolk. Entering his age-32 season, Alvarez will likely have to settle for a minor-league deal in 2019.

Muncy is out of the lineup for Game 2 of the World Series against Boston on Wednesday.

Muncy will begin Wednesday's game on the bench as David Freese draws another start at first base with lefty David Price on the rubber for the Red Sox. Look for Muncy to join the fray once Price's day has come to a close.

Escobar will remain in Arizona for three more seasons after signing an extension Monday, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Chapman underwent successful left thumb surgery in Los Angeles on Thursday. The club failed to disclose a specific timetable but he's expected to be healthy prior to spring training, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.

Specifically, Dr. Steven Shin performed an ulnar sided sesamoid bone excision along the left thumb. It's unclear when Chapman suffered the left thumb injury -- though he dealt with various right hand/wrist injuries during the year -- especially since his production remained at a high level throughout the final few weeks of the 2018 season. He finished off the year with a slash line of .278/.356/.508 with 24 home runs and 68 RBI in 145 games.

Bregman will serve as the Astros' leadoff hitter for Game 4 of the ALCS against Boston on Wednesday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Manager A.J. Hinch will try and shake things up after Houston only managed to scratch across two runs during Tuesday's defeat. In that outing, Bregman provided a pair of the club's seven hits, going 2-for-3 with one RBI and a walk. George Springer will bat second while Jose Altuve moves to the third spot in the order.
