This was Moncada's fifth multi-hit game in the last seven, and it pushed his average above .300 again. He's gone 14-for-30 with just four strikeouts during his multi-hit barrage. Last season's MLB leader in strikeouts has cut down his propensity to whiff in 2019, going from 33.4 to 27.4 K%.

Machado was hit by a pitch, driving in a run in his lone plate appearance in a loss to the Cubs on Thursday.

Incredibly, Machado's entrance as a pinch hitter marked the first time in 1,068 career games that he came off the bench for a plate appearance. He was hit by Rowan Wick's fifth pitch, pushing across the Padres' only run of the game. Machado has struggled to start September, hitting only .162 with one homer in 37 at-bats, but he is likely to resume his regular starting duties Friday.

Suarez went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, a walk and three RBI in a victory over Seattle on Thursday.

Suarez sparked Cincinnati's comeback with an RBI double in the seventh inning and a two-run homer in the eighth. The long ball was his fifth in the last seven games and vaulted him into a tie for second in the majors with 45 home runs this season. Suarez leads MLB with 25 homers since the All-Star break, slashing .300/.385/.704 with a 1.089 OPS in the second half.

Rendon went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, three RBI, two runs scored and a pair of walks to help the Nationals to a 12-6 win over the Twins on Thursday.

It was another huge day at the dish for the star third baseman, who reached base in four out of his five plate appearances and hit his 33rd long ball of the season with a first-inning solo shot off Kyle Gibson. Rendon has been swinging a sizzling bat all season, slashing a ridiculous .335/.418/.631 in 131 games.

Segura went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a stolen base in Wednesday's win over the Braves.

Segura extended the Phillies lead with a two-run homer off Julio Teheran in the third inning. The 29-year-old shortstop now has 12 home runs, nine stolen bases and a team-best batting average of .284.

Longoria went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in a loss to Pittsburgh on Thursday.

Longoria got the Giants on the board in the sixth inning with his shot to left field, but it was all the scoring his team could muster in a 4-2 loss. The 33-year-old has put together a .259/.323/.453 slash line with 19 homers and 64 RBI over 117 games heading into the final stretch of the regular season.

Senzel has been diagnosed with a torn labrum in his left shoulder and will be shut down for the rest of the season, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Senzel hadn't seen the field in over a week, and the Reds finally announced the extent of the injury Thursday evening. It's unclear at this time whether he'll require surgery, but his 2019 campaign has come to an end. He slashed .256/.315/.427 with 12 home runs, 42 RBI and 14 stolen bases over in 104 games.

Senzel (shoulder) is not in Thursday's lineup against the Mariners.

He has been out of the lineup for over a week, and while he appeared off the bench last week, he hasn't done so since Sept. 7. Brian O'Grady is starting in center field and hitting seventh.

Devers is not in the lineup Thursday against the Blue Jays, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

It appears to be a rare day off for Devers, who has started the past 26 games, slashing .304/.361/.563 with five home runs and 17 RBI over that stretch. Brock Holt is covering third base in his stead, with Marco Hernandez manning the keystone.

Machado is not in Thursday's lineup against the Cubs.

He has started the last 19 games and is hitting .209 with three home runs, one steal and a 14:10 K:BB in 67 at-bats over that stretch. Ty France will start at third base and hit sixth.
