Senzel (shoulder) is on track to begin hitting and throwing during the second week of January, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Senzel went under the knife at the end of September to repair his right labrum, and his rehab appears to be right on track. Assuming he's given the green light to start baseball activities in January, he'll be well on his way to beginning the 2020 season with a clean bill of health.

Moustakas agreed to a four-year, $64 million deal with the Reds on Monday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

The Reds will get the slugger's age-31 through age-34 seasons, though he hasn't shown any sign of decline so far. He's hit .259/.319/.498 over the last three seasons, averaging 33.7 homers per year over that stretch. He'll get to enjoy another hitter-friendly home park after hitting 35 homers for the Brewers last season. After starting 40 games at second base in 2019, he appears to be in line to remain at the position this season, with Eugenio Suarez occupying the hot corner.

Wisdom signed a one-year contract with the Mariners on Wednesday.

Wisdom struggled in his nine major-league games last season, but he found some success with Triple-A Nashville, hitting .240/.332/.513 with 31 home runs and 74 RBI. The 28-year-old could find some playing time at first base in 2020, but he'll have to improve on his limited major-league production before becoming a viable fantasy asset in most formats.

Duffy was released by the Rays on Friday.

Duffy was booted from the 40-man roster Wednesday, and after passing through waivers he's become a free agent. He spent 46 games with the Rays in 2019, hitting .252 with a home run and 12 RBI over that stretch.

Duffy was designated for assignment by the Rays on Wednesday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Duffy was limited to 46 games as he endured an injury-plagued 2019, and he didn't perform well when healthy with a .252/.343/.327 slash line and one home run. The 28-year-old's lack of power (22 home runs in 452 career games) provides a significant limit on his value at third base.

Hayes was added to the Pirates' 40-man roster Wednesday.

This was a forgone conclusion on the final day to protect prospects from the Rule 5 draft. Hayes is excellent in the field and is a good runner on the bases. He didn't kick the door down offensively at Triple-A last season (92 wRC+) and should return there at the start of the upcoming campaign. Clearly the Pirates' third baseman of the future, he could earn a promotion sometime this summer.

Nevin's contract was selected by the Rockies on Wednesday.

The move protects the 22-year-old from being exposed to the Rule 5 draft. His .251/.345/.399 slash line for Double-A Hartford last season was good enough for a 122 wRC+, but he still likely needs time at the Triple-A level before earning his first career callup.

Paredes was added to the Tigers' 40-man roster on Wednesday, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.

This move protects him from the Rule 5 draft. While he does not turn 21 until February, Paredes already has 166 games under his belt at Double-A, hitting .291/.376/.425 with 16 home runs and six steals over that stretch. He has a good command of the strike zone, but at 5-foot-11, 225 pounds, he is not a good defender and is a below-average runner, so his bat will really need to carry him. Fortunately, the Tigers have very little standing in his way on the big-league roster, so Paredes seems like the third baseman of the future. He should spend most of the year at Triple-A and could debut in the second half.

Reynolds signed a minor-league contract with the Royals on Saturday.

After seeing some major-league action in the three years prior to 2019, Reynolds played solely with Triple-A Fresno last season. He hit .295/.401/.521 with 16 home runs and 55 RBI over 111 games in 2019. The 28-year-old will likely serve as organizational depth within the Royals organization, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him get some playing time in the majors given his past experience.

Rendon rejected a qualifying offer from the Nationals on Thursday, making him a free agent, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

The finalist for the National League MVP will likely receive much more than the one-year, $17.8 million price tag associated with the qualifying offer, so it isn't surprising to see Rendon enter free agency. The Nationals will receive draft-pick compensation if Rendon signs elsewhere, but the market for the 29-year-old should still be appealing.
