Rivera was designated for assignment by the Rangers on Friday.

Rivera spent two weeks on the active roster but appeared in just four games and received only five at-bats. He failed to record a hit, lowering his career slash line through 319 plate appearances to .175/.244/.217.

Donaldson will not start the second half of Friday's doubleheader against Detroit.

Donaldson hit a solo shot in the Twins' 2-0 win in the first game of the day, but it's not a surprise to see that the oft-injured veteran won't be tasked with making two starts in one day. Ehire Adrianza will handle the hot corner in his absence.

Urshela was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a bone spur in his right elbow.

The 28-year-old has been playing through the bone spur for at least a week, and he even has multiple hits in each of his past two games. However, he'll now be sidelined until at least Sept. 15 while he recovers from the injury. It's unclear how much time Urshela is expected to miss. Miguel Andujar was recalled in a corresponding move and could see some time at third base in his absence.

Urias was recalled from the Orioles' alternate training site to serve as the 29th man for Friday's doubleheader against the Yankees.

The 26-year-old was sent to the alternate site last week, but he'll rejoin the Orioles for Friday's doubleheader. Urias is 1-for-5 in four games this season and should return to the alternate site after the twin bill.

Astudillo was recalled by the Twins to serve as the 29th man for their doubleheader against the Tigers on Friday.

If Astudillo gets into a game Friday, it will be his first big-league action of the season. He missed the early part of the year while working his way back from a positive COVID-19 test, though he's been off the injured list since mid-August and was evidently simply not needed. It's no surprise that he's not one of the Twins' top options this season, as he struggled to a .268/.299/.379 slash line last season despite posting his customary extremely low 3.9 percent strikeout rate.

Moustakas is out of the lineup for Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader against the Pirates.

Moustakas started the past 12 games but will take a seat for Friday's matinee after going 8-for-40 with 13 strikeouts during that stretch. Kyle Farmer will start at the keystone for the Reds in Game 1.

Toro entered Thursday's game after Jose Altuve left with a knee injury. He went 0-for-3 with a run scored in an 8-4 win over Texas.

After Altuve departed, Aledmys Diaz moved from third to second base while Toro manned the hot corner. That could be the arrangement until Altuve returns or Alex Bregman (hamstring) is ready to play. Altuve's status is unknown pending an MRI. Toro, who had a three-game hit streak snapped, is batting .159 (10-for-63) with three home runs and seven RBI.

Urshela went 2-for-3 with two walks, one RBI and one run scored Thursday against the Mets.

Urshela reached base four times in total and has now collected at least one hit in five of his last six contests. He's hit the ball well consistently this season, maintaining a .272/.358/.515 line to go along with six home runs, 23 RBI and 18 runs scored across 120 plate appearances.

Davis went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run Thursday against the Yankees.

Davis was hitless coming to the plate in the ninth inning, but delivered a solo home run against Aroldis Chapman to knot the game at seven. He was out of the lineup for two games due to a hip injury, but managed to retake the field and slug his first home run since Aug. 18. Overall, Davis has put together a .274/.390/.427 line with five home runs, 17 runs scored and 13 RBI across 141 plate appearances.

Moncada said that his body "hasn't felt the same" since having COVID-19 in mid-July, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Moncada was able to produce a negative test ahead of Opening Day, but continues to feel the effects of contracting the virus, saying he feels a "lack of energy, strength." The third-baseman, who is also continuing to deal with leg soreness, is hitting .248/.338/.421 on the campaign. While those numbers are nothing to scoff at, it's worth noting that the post-virus effects could be part of the reason that he's seen a drop-off in production from last season.
