Angels manager Joe Maddon said Rendon is being held out of the lineup Sunday against the Blue Jays after he "felt something" in his left groin during Saturday's 15-1 loss, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports. "I don't know if he's gonna need more than one day," Maddon said of Rendon.

Rendon suffered the injury in question while making a throw across the diamond. The Angels are hoping that a day off will be enough to resolve the issue, but fantasy managers will still want to check back on Rendon's condition heading into Monday's series opener in Kansas City. Jose Rojas will spell Rendon at third base Sunday.

Rendon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

In somewhat of a surprise, Rendon will head to the bench for the second time in 10 games this season. Despite the fact that Rendon has now been out of the lineup twice in less than a week, manager Joe Maddon hasn't suggested that the 30-year-old is dealing with an injury. Through his eight starts, Rendon is hitting .290/.378/.387 across 37 plate appearances.

Urias remains out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Heading into spring training, Urias had been considered a candidate to open the season as the Orioles' primary second baseman, but Baltimore's late signing of Maikel Franco seems to have thwarted those plans. With Franco taking over as the everyday third baseman, Rio Ruiz has since been pushed over to the keystone, where he's emerged as the primary option. Urias will be on the bench Sunday for a seventh time in the Orioles' nine games this season.

Candelario went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's loss to Cleveland.

Detroit was down 11-1 when Candelario blasted his home run, but he won't complain about his first long ball of the season. The 27-year-old infielder hit seven home runs in 52 games last season. His career best is the 19 homers he recorded across 144 games back in 2018.

Machado was ejected from Saturday's win against Texas in the eighth inning. He went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and an RBI prior to his departure.

Machado came up to bat with the bases loaded and two outs in the eighth, working a 3-0 count before ultimately whiffing on a called third strike. His displeasure with the call led to his ejection, but it didn't affect the outcome of the game. Machado is unlikely to face further discipline, so the only impact for fantasy managers who roster him is the missed opportunity on the bases-loaded strikeout.

Devers went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Orioles.

After recording only two hits in 19 at-bats through his first five starts of the season, Devers has been able to get back on track in Baltimore. Through the first two games of the series, Devers has slugged a pair of home runs while reaching base six times in total. He'll have a good opportunity to keep the momentum going Sunday versus Orioles starter Jorge Lopez. Per Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican, Devers is 2-for-2 with two home runs, a walk and four RBI in his three career plate appearances versus Lopez.

Muncy went 2-for-2 with a pair of walks and scored two runs in a victory over the Nationals on Saturday.

Muncy has been an on-base machine in the early going, racking up 11 hits, nine walks and a HBP across 39 plate appearances for a superb .538 OBP -- second best in the National League. At the heart of his success this season is a 10.3 percent strikeout rate that is a vast improvement over the 24.2 percent mark he posted in 2020.

Escobar went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a second RBI and a second run scored in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Reds.

Escobar was one of several Arizona regulars who slumped to begin the season, going 1-for-21 over the first five games, but he's turned that around in a big way. His seventh-inning home run was his third in as many contests, and the infielder is 5-for-11 with six RBI and five runs scored during that stretch.

Rendon's fourth-inning solo shot was a small murmur of protest against a Toronto team that ran away with a 15-1 victory, but it was nonetheless a welcome sign after the star third baseman had gone through his first 27 at-bats of the campaign without an extra-base hit. Despite the lack of power, Rendon has reached base at a strong .378 clip.

McMahon went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run during Saturday's 4-3 loss at San Francisco.

The 26-year-old was 1-for-11 in the previous three games since launching three homers Tuesday against Arizona, but he returned to the home-run column Saturday. McMahon is 11-for-33 with five home runs, two doubles, seven runs and eight RBI through nine games this season.
