Abraham Toro 1B | BOS
Mariners' Abraham Toro: Traded to Mariners
Toro was traded to the Mariners on Tuesday along with relief pitcher Joe Smith in exchange for pitchers Kendall Graveman and Rafael Montero, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Toro's presence on Houston's roster was already becoming less necessary following Aledmys Diaz's return, and with Alex Bregman (hamstring) likely to be activated in the near future, Houston has opted to use the infielder as a trade chip to acquire some much-needed relief help. Toro was reported to be in a Mariners uniform prior to Tuesday's game against the Astros, though it's not yet clear whether he's been added to the club's 26-man roster.

Abraham Toro 1B | BOS
Astros' Abraham Toro: Takes seat Tuesday
Toro is not in the starting lineup Tuesday against Seattle, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Toro will yield third-base duties to Aledys Diaz despite homering in each of the past two contests. He could still see the bulk of time at the hot corner during the next few games, but Toro's role is almost certain to diminish once Alex Bregman (quad) is activated at some point in the near future.

Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY
Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Back in action Tuesday
McMahon (lower leg) is starting at third base and batting sixth Tuesday against the Angels, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
McMahon sat out the past two days while dealing with an injury to his lower leg. The 26-year-old is 8-for-24 with two doubles, four walks, three RBI and four runs in seven appearances since the All-Star break.

J.D. Davis 1B | LAA
Mets' J.D. Davis: Gets rest Tuesday
Davis is not starting Tuesday against Atlanta.
Davis will hand the third base duties to Jonathan Villar after going 1-for-6 with a double while starting both games of Monday's twin bill. Davis has performed well since being activated from the injured list July 16, hitting .290 with a pair of homers across 31 at-bats.
-
Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA
Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Takes seat Tuesday
Wisdom is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds.
The third baseman went 1-for-2 with a trio of walks and a run Monday. Since the All-Star break, Wisdom has gone 7-for-33 with two home runs, six walks and seven runs while striking out 18 times. Kris Bryant will play third base Tuesday, with Ian Happ getting the start in left field.

Rodolfo Castro 2B | PHI
Pirates' Rodolfo Castro: Recalled from minors
The Pirates recalled Castro from Double-A Altoona on Tuesday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
The infielder has gone 3-for-13 in four games since being sent down to the minors July 17. With the Pirates in 2021, he's hit .214 with three home runs and four RBI. A corresponding move has yet to be announced.

Jace Peterson SS | ARI
Brewers' Jace Peterson: Lands on COVID-19 IL
Peterson was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Tuesday due to contact tracing, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Outfielder Christian Yelich is the only Brewer to have been reported to test positive for the virus, so at this point, it sounds like Peterson is out because of health and safety protocols. Per Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Peterson will be forced to quarantine for at least the next seven days, which means he won't return to the active roster until Aug. 3 at the earliest.

Abraham Toro 1B | BOS
Astros' Abraham Toro: Slugs another homer
Toro went 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk Monday in the Astros' 11-8 loss to the Mariners.
Kyle Tucker and Toro smacked back-to-back home runs off Darren McCaughan in the first inning to help stake the Astros to an early 7-0 lead, but a furious Mariners rally resulted in Houston dropping the series opener. The long ball was Toro's sixth of the season and second in as many days, but fantasy managers likely won't be able to coax much more value out of him. Alex Bregman (quadriceps) kicked off a rehab assignment Monday at Triple-A Sugar Land and could return from the injured list next week, at which point he would reclaim everyday duties at third base from Toro.
-
Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL
Twins' Josh Donaldson: Belts 16th homer
Donaldson went 2-for-4 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Monday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Tigers.
If the veteran third baseman is on the trade block, he's doing everything he can to enhance his value. Donaldson is slashing .297/.413/.568 over his last 11 games with three of his 16 homers on the year, and with Jose Miranda banging loudly on the door with a 1.051 OPS at Triple-A, the Twins have every incentive to clear space at the hot corner by moving Donaldson.

Alex Bregman 3B | CHC
Astros' Alex Bregman: Plays five rehab innings
Bregman (quadriceps) started at third base and went 0-for-2 with a walk for Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday.
Bregman kicked off his rehab assignment Monday by playing five innings and getting three plate appearances. There had been some hope that he could return during the Astros' current road trip, but Bregman is expected to stay on rehab for another week to 10 days.
