Athletics' Matt Chapman: Launches solo shot

Chapman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Rangers.

Chapman lifted his second homer of the year against Rangers starter Lance Lynn in the seventh inning. The third baseman then got aboard with a single and scored on Stephen Piscotty's walk-off grand slam in the ninth. Chapman has posted four RBI and five runs scored with a .222/.255/.422 triple-slash line in 11 games this year, but it appears he's heating up with hits in three straight contests.

White Sox's Nick Madrigal: Suffers shoulder injury

Madrigal exited Tuesday's game against the Brewers with a left shoulder injury.

The 23-year-old was thrown out attempting to go first-to-third on a single up the middle during the third inning, and his left arm was jammed awkwardly into the ground on his feet-first slide. Madrigal will be further examined Wednesday and should be considered day-to-day until more is known on the injury.

White Sox's Nick Madrigal: Leaves Tuesday's game

Madrigal was removed from Tuesday's game at Milwaukee with an apparent left wrist injury, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

The 23-year-old collected a hit during his first at-bat Tuesday, but he hurt himself sliding into third base as he mistakenly decided to test the arm of Avisail Garcia by going first-to-third on a hit up the middle. Madrigal appeared to be in considerable pain and was cradling his wrist as he walked off the field, which is the same wrist he fractured in early 2018. The specifics of the injury remain unclear, but he seems likely to be sidelined for at least a few days.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Yankees' Gio Urshela: Slams three-run homer

Urshela went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in a win over Philadelphia on Monday.

Urshela struck out twice in the contest, but he more than made up for the whiffs with a three-run shot in the sixth inning to break the game open. The 28-year-old has followed a breakout 2019 campaign with a strong start this season, slashing .300/.400/.667 with three homers and nine RBI through 35 plate appearances.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Goes deep in win

LeMahieu went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over Philadelphia on Monday.

LeMahieu got the Yankees off to a quick start with a solo home run leading off the bottom of the first inning. He also notched an infield single in the fifth inning to register his fourth multi-hit game of the campaign. LeMahieu is batting a tidy .412/.429/.618 with two homers and five RBI in eight games this season.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Twins' Josh Donaldson: Sitting again Tuesday

Donaldson (calf) remains sidelined Tuesday against the Pirates.

Donaldson is set to miss his fourth straight game after leaving Friday's game against Cleveland due to a tight calf. Marwin Gonzalez remains the third baseman in his absence. Donaldson is expected to travel with the Twins on their upcoming road trip, which begins Wednesday, though it remains unclear exactly when he'll return to the lineup.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Clubs second homer

Moncada went 3-for-5 with a double, a solo home run and a second run scored in Monday's 6-4 win over the Brewers.

He blasted his second homer of the year off Corey Knebel in the ninth inning to give the White Sox an insurance run in the comeback win. Moncada has reached base in all nine games he's played to begin the season, slashing .351/.442/.595, and while the sample is very small, his 14.0 percent walk rate would be a career high, offering a very encouraging sign of skill growth for the 25-year-old.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Twins' Josh Donaldson: Will travel with team

Donaldson (calf) is expected to travel with the Twins on their upcoming road trip, which begins Wednesday, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Donaldson has sat for three straight games after leaving Friday's game against Cleveland with calf tightness. It doesn't sound as though he'll miss too much more time, but the Twins can afford to be cautious with the veteran given the expanded playoffs this season. Marwin Gonzalez will start at the hot corner Monday and appears set to remain there for Tuesday's contest.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

    Twins' Josh Donaldson: Remains sidelined

Donaldson (calf) will sit again Monday against the Pirates.

Donaldson hasn't played since leaving Friday's game against Cleveland with a tight right calf. The issue is reportedly not serious, but the Twins are understandably being cautious with their prized offseason acquisition, as Donaldson has battled calf issues in the past. Marwin Gonzalez remains the third baseman Monday.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Knocks first homer

Devers went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 9-7 loss to the Yankees.

Devers hit an RBI single to plate Kevin Pillar and later scored on a Miguel Andujar error in the third inning. Devers then launched a go-ahead homer in the seventh for Boston's last run of the game, but it wasn't enough to secure victory for the Red Sox. The third baseman has struggled to start 2020, with just one homer, two RBI and seven runs scored along with a .211 batting average in 10 games.
