Shortstop Eduardo Escobar batted ninth for the Twins in Kansas City on Monday night. He didn't hit like he belonged there.
In fact, he hasn't hit like he belongs there for quite some time.
Escobar remained hot with a 3-for-3 performance that a double and RBI singles in the sixth and seventh innings. He added a walk as he reached base in all four plate appearances.
He is batting .394 (26-for-66) over his last 18 games with 14 RBI and 19 runs.

Athletics rookie right-hander Aaron Brooks has been called up and will start Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks. Brooks has made four appearances (three starts) since coming over from the Royals in a deal right before the July 31 trade deadline.
His last start came back on August 12, when he was rocked for eight runs over 1 2/3 innings. He pitched in relief two days later and was then sent down to Triple-A.
To clear room on the roster, infielder Max Muncy was optioned to Triple-A Nashville.
