Longoria provided all the offense for the Rays on Monday, connecting on a two-run home run in a loss to the Red Sox.

Longoria has been a force at the plate this month, collecting 20 RBI with six home runs and 13 runs scored in August. The third baseman is enjoying his best season since 2013, having already posted more home runs and RBI than he did a season ago, with the highest batting average he's had since 2010.

Valencia is set to return to the lineup Tuesday against Cleveland, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.

Before sitting out Oakland's last two games, Valencia had been putting on a show at the plate. Over the previous seven games, Valencia posted a .462/.500/.654 line with one home run, two doubles, and four runs. He'll look to continue his dominance Tuesday when the A's go up against Danny Salazar and the Indians.

Valencia is out of the lineup for Monday's matchup against Cleveland, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Valencia is out of the lineup for the second day in a row, and while it's now known that he had a fight with teammate Billy Butler, Valencia is available from the bench for Monday's game if need be. Ryon Healy will start at third and bat sixth during Valencia's absence.

Bregman went 3-for-6 with an RBI double, two-run homer and three runs in Saturday's 12-2 rout of the Orioles.

The rookie's bat remains red-hot, with an 11-for-24 tally over his last five games. Bregman drove in George Springer with both of his run-scoring hits Saturday, a solo shot in the first that opened the scoring and an RBI two-bagger in the ninth that capped it off. The 22-year-old has now hit safely in 13 of his last 14 games and currently boasts a five-game hitting streak.

Longoria went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, solo homer, walk and two runs overall in Saturday's 8-2 victory over the Rangers.

He got the scoring on the day started by plating Corey Dickerson in the first with a single, and then blasted his second homer in the last four games in the sixth. Factoring in Saturday's production, Longoria is now just five homers away from equaling the career-best 33 he tallied back in a spectacular 2009 season.

Valencia is out of the lineup Sunday against the White Sox.

Valencia owns a superb .985 OPS against southpaws this season, so it's a bit surprising to see him on the bench against left-hander Jose Quintana. He has made six consecutive starts, however, so perhaps this is just a routine maintenance day.

Muncy is out of the lineup Sunday against the White Sox.

Muncy will give way to Chad Pinder at the keystone for the second straight game, as the Athletics will once again see a southpaw on the hill for the opposing team Sunday afternoon.

Alvarez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Astros, Jon Meoli of the Baltimore Sun reports.

With lefty Dallas Keuchel on the hill for the opposing Astros, Alvarez will sit in favor of Mark Trumbo at the DH spot. Alvarez hasn't started against a left-hander since July 30.

Donaldson (thumb) is back in the lineup Sunday against the Indians, Sportsnet's Barry Davis reports.

Donaldson had been held out of action for back-to-back games, but he'll return to third base and bat second in the order for Sunday's series finale. It's been a slow month for Donaldson, as a .727 OPS is a step back by his standards, but he'll look to get back on track Sunday against Corey Kluber and the Tribe.

Moncada returned to action for Double-A Portland on Saturday after missing five days because of a sprained right ankle. He went 0-for-5 on Saturday while getting his second start of the season at third base.

Boston's top prospect had returned from the ankle injury prior to this recent idle stretch, only to aggravate the injury after just two games. Perhaps he came back a bit too early. At any rate, he'll continue to get reps at third base with the Sea Dogs and further work on his transition to that position in the Arizona Fall League. It's unlikely the Red Sox will be bringing him to Boston during the final weeks of the 2016 season.
