The Chicago White Sox reassigned Stefan Gartrell, Erik Johnson, Marcus Semien, Scott Snodgress, Trayce Thompson and Keenyn Walker to minor league camp on Monday.

The Padres announced on Saturday that infielder Logan Forsythe will miss three to four days due to plantar fasciitis. Forsythe is competing with Jedd Gyorko for the starting job at second this spring. “He’s got a foot issue and we’re going to stay away from it for three or four days,” manager Bud Black told the U-T San Diego. “We’re having it looked at.”

Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus sat out Thursday's Cactus League game against the Indians due to "left arm sensitivity" from a new tattoo. He also weighed in at 162 pounds at the end of the campaign but has made a concerted effort to add to his frame this offseason. The Seattle Times reports Franklin showed up to camp weighing in at 196 pounds. "Last year, during the season, I felt my body starting to collapse on me," Franklin said. "At the end of August, I weighed 162 pounds and I was hitting balls to the gap that probably should have been out and they ended up going off the wall. One of them bounced to the wall."

Kansas City manager Ned Yost said Saturday that the second base job is basically a two-man battle between Chris Getz and Johnny Giavotella, reports the Kansas City Star. All other players in camp are vying for utility spots.
