Diaz went 2-for-3 with a walk and a grand slam in Friday's 6-1 win over the Brewers.

His third-inning blast off Patrick Weigel gave Trevor Rogers all the run support the Miami lefty would need. Diaz has looked good at the plate since his promotion, slashing .238/.393/.524 in seven games with two homers, three runs, eight RBI and a strong 6:4 BB:K, but his stint as the starting second baseman will draw to a close once Jazz Chisholm (hamstring) gets healthy.

Rojas went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Friday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to the Mets.

Hitting eighth in front of the pitcher didn't cramp Rojas' style, and he extended his hitting streak to seven games with the performance. The 26-year-old is slashing .429/.448/.929 over that stretch with four homers, six RBI and eight runs as he solidifies a spot in Arizona's everyday lineup.

Polanco went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, two walks, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 7-3 win over Detroit.

Polanco put together just his second game this season in which he reached base four times, and his first in which he drew multiple walks. The 27-year-old infielder is up to two home runs, 14 RBI, 15 runs scored and two stolen bases through 119 plate appearances. He still has a career-worst slash line of .219/.294/.352 in 29 games, but he's shown signs of improvement with multiple hits in three of the last seven contests.

Chavis was recalled from Triple-A Worcester on Friday.

Chavis briefly joined the major-league roster earlier in the season, but he'll now return to the Red Sox after Enrique Hernandez (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Chavis could see playing time at second base or in the outfield while Hernandez is sidelined.

Hernandez was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain Friday.

Hernandez was removed from Thursday's game against the Tigers due to a right hamstring issue, and he's now been diagnosed with a strain that will force him to miss additional time. Michael Chavis was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move and could see playing time while Hernandez is unavailable.

Arraez's concussion symptoms have subsided, and he's expected to return from the injured list when first eligible Tuesday or soon after, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Arraez left Monday's game against the Rangers with concussion symptoms and was placed on the seven-day injured list the next day. He's yet to resume baseball activities but is expected to do so soon.

Guillorme (oblique) won't return from the injured list when first eligible Sunday and may not be back next week either, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.

Previous reports indicated that Guillorme was trending towards a minimum-length stay, but he evidently hasn't progressed as expected. His oblique still hurts when he swings, but he's been able to go through fielding drills at reduced intensity.

Gimenez is not in the lineup Friday against the Reds.

Gimenez finds himself on the bench for the second consecutive game with Wade Miley on the mound for Cincinnati. Amed Rosario will start at shortstop while Harold Ramirez roams center field for Cleveland.

Hernandez (hamstring) is out of the lineup Friday against the Orioles, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

The 29-year-old continues to be evaluated after exiting Thursday's game during the first inning with a hamstring injury, and manager Alex Cora indicated the team will decided later in the afternoon whether a trip to the injured list is necessary, per Alex Speier of The Boston Globe. Michael Chavis would likely be recalled from the taxi squad should Hernandez be placed on the shelf. Alex Verdugo will shift to center field Friday while Franchy Cordero starts in left.

Arroyo (hand) is out of the lineup Friday against the Orioles, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

The 24-year-old was diagnosed with a bruised left hand after being hit by a pitch Wednesday, and he'll be held out of the lineup for the second straight game. According to Bill Koch of The Providence Journal, Arroyo has been cleared to run and play the field but isn't expected to hit until potentially rejoining the starting nine Sunday. Marwin Gonzalez will start at the keystone Friday for Boston.
