Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Records three hits Wednesday
Hoerner went 3-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 7-6 loss to the Tigers.
Hoerner has fallen behind Jason Kipnis in the second base pecking order at the moment, but the former is still a plenty capable hitter. The 23-year-old has a bright future in Chicago, and he could certainly earn more playing time this season if he gets hot and Kipnis falls into a slump.

Mauricio Dubon SS | ATL
Giants' Mauricio Dubon: Heads to bench
Dubon is not starting Wednesday against the Dodgers, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Dubon is hitting .264/.308/.319 with a homer and two stolen bases across 28 games this season. Mike Yastrzemski is covering center field in this one.

Gavin Lux SS | TB
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Joins taxi squad
The Dodgers included Lux on their five-man taxi squad for their six-game road trip that began Tuesday in San Francisco, J.P. Hoonstra of The Orange County Register reports.
Lux has yet to make his 2020 debut after a poor showing in summer camp prompted Los Angeles to leave him off its Opening Day roster and send him to the alternate training site for further development. Manager Dave Roberts suggested the Dodgers have been pleased with the progress the 22-year-old has made of late, with Lux notably taking pitcher Tony Gonsolin deep twice in an intrasquad game Monday. Lux could be at the top of the list for a promotion if the Dodgers require another infielder at some point, though it's unclear if he would immediately unseat Chris Taylor as the club's top option at the keystone.

Luis Urias 2B | ATH
Brewers' Luis Urias: Out of Tuesday's lineup
Urias is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Reds.
He has cooled off a bit after notching back-to-back three-hit games in the middle of the month. Urias is now 2-for-22 with seven strikeouts over his last six games. Keston Hiura will start at second base while Christian Yelich starts at designated hitter and Jace Peterson gets his first start in left field.

Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Out of Tuesday's lineup
Hoerner is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers.
Hoerner started Monday but returns to the bench in favor of Jason Kipnis on Tuesday. Kipnis has outperformed Hoerner so far offensively, and that figures to keep the latter out of the lineup more often than not, at least in the short term.

Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL
Braves' Ozzie Albies: Nearing return
Albies (wrist) hit from both sides of the plate without incident Tuesday and is getting closer to a return, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
Atlanta just got Ronald Acuna and Nick Markakis back Tuesday, so Albies is the lone lineup regular still on the injured list. There isn't a firm timetable for his return, but those who are stashing him should probably remain patient for another week or two.

Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH
Mets' Jeff McNeil: Batting eighth in Game 1
McNeil is starting at second base and hitting eighth during Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Marlins.
He has not played since Aug. 18 due to the Mets' COVID-19 postponements and due to a knee issue that had bothered him dating back a couple weeks. McNeil has not batted lower than third in the order this season and is 2-for-18 over his last six games.

Andres Gimenez SS | TOR
Mets' Andres Gimenez: Out for undisclosed reason
Gimenez was placed on the injured list for an undisclosed reason Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
The team is not specifying which injured list Gimenez is going on, so this could be COVID-19 related. He should be considered out indefinitely.

Brendan Rodgers 2B | BOS
Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Riding pine Monday
Rodgers is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Diamondbacks.
The Rockies brought Rodgers up from their alternate site last Wednesday, but the team is living up to its reputation, tempering excitement over the 24-year-old's arrival. Rodgers has now been out of the lineup for three of the Rockies' last five games. He's struggled to get going with the sporadic playing time, recording just one hit in 12 plate appearances.
