  • Royals' Michael Massey: Earns call to Triple-A

Massey was promoted to Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Massey posted a .305/.359/.495 slash line with nine home runs, nine stolen bases, 48 RBI and 36 runs scored in 54 games with Double-A Northwest Arkansas this year, so it's clear he was due to move up a level. He's shown quality five-category potential at every level he's played at in the minors so far, but he'll likely finish out 2022 at Triple-A.

  • Danny Mendick 3B | CHW

White Sox's Danny Mendick: Notches first career steal

Mendick went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Tigers.

The successful theft of third base against the battery of Will Vest and Tucker Barnhart was Mendick's first stolen base in the big leagues (145th game). Mendick has been a bright spot for the White Sox this month, hitting safely in 10 of 12 games, but his playing time could soon take a hit with Tim Anderson (groin) expected back next week.

  • Tigers' Harold Castro: Registers three more hits Tuesday

Castro went 3-for-4 with a double in Tuesday's loss to the White Sox.

Castro recorded three hits for the second consecutive game, pushing his average to .308 for the season. Unfortunately, the seven hitters behind Castro recorded just three hits combined, so he wasn't able to come around to score at any point. The versatile 28-year-old is still hitting well and should play most days for a Detroit team that is desperate for offensive production.

  • Luis Rengifo 2B | MIL

Angels' Luis Rengifo: Not starting Tuesday

Rengifo is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

The 25-year-old is in the midst of a 2-for-25 slump and finds himself on the bench for the second consecutive game. Tyler Wade will man the keystone in Rengifo's place Tuesday.

  • Red Sox's Christian Arroyo: Scratched with illness

Arroyo was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against the A's due to an illness, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Arroyo was set to start in right field Tuesday, but the ailment has caused him to be unavailable. He should be considered day-to-day until the team updates his status. Franchy Cordero will take Arroyo's spot in right field and bat ninth.

  • Red Sox's Enrique Hernandez: Could return when first eligible

Hernandez (hip) could return from the injured list when first eligible Saturday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Hernandez hit the injured list Wednesday with a strained right hip flexor, but his injury apparently isn't too serious. He'd posted a .789 OPS in his last 16 games before the injury, so the Red Sox will be excited to get him back.

  • Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM

Twins' Jorge Polanco: Out again Tuesday

Polanco (back) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game at Seattle, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

The 28-year-old will be withheld from the lineup for the second consecutive game due to back soreness. Polanco should be considered day-to-day, and it remains to be seen whether or not he'll be available off the bench.

  • Blue Jays' Santiago Espinal: Sitting Tuesday

Espinal is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Orioles.

Espinal has quietly been very productive this season, especially lately, as he is hitting .380/.426/.640 with three home runs in 12 games this month. Cavan Biggio will start at the keystone and bat ninth.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Moves past stomach illness

Torres (illness) will start at second base and bat fifth in Tuesday's game against the Rays.

Torres missed Sunday's series finale with the Cubs while he was dealing with an upset stomach, but the Yankees didn't miss his services in their 18-4 trouncing of Chicago. With the benefit of sitting Sunday coupled with a team off day Monday, Torres should be back to full strength as the Yankees open a six-game week.

  • Vidal Brujan 2B | NYM

Rays' Vidal Brujan: Hits bench Tuesday

Brujan is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Brujan will give way to Isaac Paredes at the keystone after starting in each of the Rays' last six games while going 5-for-22 with a home run, a double, a stolen base and five RBI. Though the 24-year-old switch hitter is slowly starting to settle in at the plate, he's still maintaining a poor .157/.206/.236 slash line at the big-league level in 2022.
