Guardians' Josh Naylor: Out again Thursday

Naylor (leg) remains out of the Guardians' lineup for Thursday's game against the White Sox.

It's the second straight game he's missed due to left leg tightness. Gabriel Arias will handle first base while Naylor gets some more rest.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Remains out of lineup

Diaz (groin) remains out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Diaz had been hoping to return from his groin injury for this one, but he'll receive at least one more day of rest. Luke Raley is handling first base.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Mets' Pete Alonso: Blasts walk-off homer

Alonso went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run Wednesday in a 10-inning victory versus Tampa Bay.

Alonso failed to reach base in his first four plate appearances, but that was all forgotten when he slugged a three-run homer against Pete Fairbanks in the 10th inning to send New York home with a dramatic come-from-behind win. It was the second straight game with a long ball for the first baseman, who also extended his on-base streak to 11 with the blast. Alonso ranks first in the majors with 15 homers on the season.

  • Nick Pratto 1B | TEX

Royals' Nick Pratto: Logs first career steal

Pratto went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Padres.

Pratto nabbed his first major-league steal after drawing a walk in the fifth inning. He showed modest speed in the minors, recording at least eight steals in each of his five seasons, but it's obviously not a huge part of the first baseman's game. He's gone 5-for-18 (.278) over his last five games, and he's now batting .328 with a .908 OPS, two home runs, 13 RBI, 11 runs scored and five doubles through 20 contests on the year.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Lifts fifth homer

Vaughn went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 7-2 win over the Guardians.

Vaughn went 0-for-12 over the weekend against Houston, and he's taking out his frustrations on Cleveland by opening this series 3-for-8 with two RBI. The 25-year-old is up to five homers, 31 RBI, 19 runs scored, 13 doubles, a triple and a .242/.330/.424 slash line through 43 contests. He continues to see a starting role at first base.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Pirates' Carlos Santana: Getting back on track

Santana went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run scored Wednesday against the Tigers.

Santana did his damage in the seventh inning, driving in a run with a double prior to also coming around to score. He entered Wednesday's game having collected only seven hits across 43 at-bats in May, though he now has a double in each of his last two games. Santana continues to bat in the heart of the Pirates' order, which has helped him rack up 22 RBI across 40 games on the campaign.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Ends home run drought

Cronenworth went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss against the Royals.

Cronenworth smoked a fastball over the right field wall to tie the game in the fifth inning. It was his first homer since April 15. May has been rough for Cronenworth, who has a .220 average and .320 slugging percentage since the calendar turned. He struggled in May last season as well, posting a .290 slugging percentage before turning his season around in June.

  • Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Crushes homer

Pasquantino went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's win over the Padres.

Pasquantino helped knock Yu Darvish out of the game with a two-run shot in the sixth inning. The first baseman has delivered some power to the Royals' lineup. He has eight homers in 193 plate appearances after posting 10 long balls in 298 plate appearances last season. Pasquantino has been excellent in multiple categories with 21 runs and 21 RBI this season.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Out due to leg tightness

Naylor (leg) is out of the lineup Wednesday versus the White Sox.

Naylor was pulled from Tuesday's series opener in Chicago due to left leg tightness and is considered day-to-day leading into the second game of the three-game set. Josh Bell is playing first base and batting cleanup Wednesday with Amed Rosario taking a turn at designated hitter and batting second.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Out of lineup versus lefty

Tellez is not starting Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Darin Ruf will cover first base and bat cleanup with young lefty Matthew Liberatore on the mound for St. Louis. William Contreras is serving as the designated hitter and batting second.
