Alonso went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run, two walks and a stolen base in a 4-3 victory versus the Cubs on Wednesday.

Alonso did what he does best in the fourth inning, tying the contest with a two-run shot off Kyle Hendricks. It was his third straight game with a homer and pushed his season total to 35, third-most in the majors. Alonso needs just five more home runs to match last season's total of 40, and he could even feasibly challenge his career-best mark of 53 long balls that he established as a rookie in 2019.

Torkelson went 2-for-4 with a walk, two solo home runs and three runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Twins.

It was a three true outcomes night for Torkelson, as he struck out in his other two at-bats. The youngster was in a 2-for-23 slump before Wednesday, and that's kind of been par for the course this year. Torkelson has displayed good pop with 17 home runs, but he's also not making consistent contact with just a .225 batting average.

Solano was diagnosed with a mild MCL sprain in his right knee after undergoing an MRI on Wednesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Solano is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Detroit, but with the MRI on his knee coming back clean, the Twins are optimistic he'll avoid a long-term absence. Minnesota hasn't ruled out Solano requiring a trip to the injured list, however, but manager Rocco Baldelli said that the veteran utility man is considered day-to-day for the time being while he waits for the swelling in his ankle to subside, according to Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Noda (jaw) did not take live batting practice Tuesday as originally planned but has been medically cleared to play in games if he's comfortable, the Associated Press reports.

The report seems to indicate Noda hasn't suffered any form of physical setback, but rather, that he's actually made steady ongoing progress. However, given the nature of his injury, he may need a bit more time to mentally prepare for stepping back into the batter's box under any setting. The rookie remains without a firm return timetable as a result, but if and when he does embark on a rehab assignment, it's likely to be of short duration given he hasn't been sidelined an inordinate amount of time.

Beaty is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Beaty had started each of the last three games at first base and went 3-for-13 with two doubles, two runs and one RBI in those contests, but his opportunities will likely become more limited moving forward after Salvador Perez (hand) returned from a one-game absence Tuesday. Perez is expected to see consistent playing time at first base for the foreseeable future to open up starts behind the plate for the hot-hitting Freddy Fermin.

Rivas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

The lefty-hitting Rivas will hit the bench Wednesday while Atlanta brings southpaw Max Fried to the bump. Platoon mate Connor Joe will get the starting nod at first base and will bat cleanup.

Solano is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers after undergoing an MRI on his sprained right knee, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

The Twins are still waiting on the results of Solano's MRI, so until the team learns more about the severity of his injury, he'll be considered day-to-day. Solano, who made his third straight start at first base in Tuesday's 6-0 loss, went 1-for-2 at the dish before departing from the game when he injured the ankle while running the bases in the third inning. Joey Gallo came off the bench to pinch run for Solano and will draw the start at first base Wednesday.

Santana (illness) remains out of the lineup Wednesday against the Rockies.

Santana will miss a second straight start while he battles an illness. He should be ready to return to action this weekend versus the White Sox following the Brewers' off day Thursday. Mark Canha will handle first base again for the Brew Crew on Wednesday.

After a tough start to the second half, the 28-year-old slugger has returned to form, boasting a remarkable 1.171 OPS over his last 17 games, including eight home runs, 22 RBI and 12 runs scored in 73 plate appearances during that stretch.

Montero is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Montero's stretch of eight consecutive starts will come to an end Wednesday as utility man Cole Tucker replaces him in the lineup for the series finale. Though injuries to Kris Bryant (finger) and Charlie Blackmon (hand) have opened up everyday playing time for him, Montero has yet to take advantage of the opportunity. Since being recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on July 25, Montero is hitting .195 with three extra-base hits (one home run, two doubles) and a 46.5 percent strikeout rate in 11 games.
