Busch went 1-for-2 with two walks and a two-run home run in Wednesday's 10-2 loss to the Padres.

The Cubs were fairly listless, managing just three total hits, and Busch's second home run of the year in the fourth inning provided all of the offense. The 26-year-old has been fairly solid so far in his first season in Chicago, posting an .850 OPS, seven RBI and the two long balls across 12 games. He'll continue to start most days against righty starters.

Noda is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers due to a left hand injury, MLB.com reports.

According to MLB.com, Noda was scratched from the lineup ahead of Tuesday's 4-3 win after his hand was struck by a pitching machine during batting practice. X-rays on Noda's hand came back negative, so he could be available off the bench Wednesday if he's not dealing with too much discomfort.

Hoskins is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Cincinnati.

Hoskins appears to be getting a routine day off. The Brewers will start Jake Bauers at first base and have Christian Yelich serve as their designated hitter Wednesday.

Gallo (wrist) will start at first base and bat cleanup in Wednesday's game in San Francisco, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Gallo was hit on the left wrist by a pitch in Tuesday's game, but X-rays came back negative and he's back in the lineup a day later. The 30-year-old is slashing .167/.302/.417 in his first 10 games with the Nationals.

Naylor went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and two walks in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the White Sox.

Naylor has hit safely in eight of 10 games this season, and he also doubled his walk count for the year Tuesday. The first baseman is batting .314 with two homers, seven RBI, six runs scored and two doubles over 43 plate appearances. He's been caught stealing on his only attempt so far, but Naylor's game is mostly based on carrying a strong average and supplementing that with decent power and run-production skills in the heart of the Guardians' order.

Schanuel is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Schanuel has now sat out two of the last three games, and both times he's been on the bench, the Angels have faced right-handed starting pitchers. The 22-year-old probably isn't in danger of being demoted to Triple-A Salt Lake just yet, but his 2-for-31 start at the plate is beginning to cost him playing time. Brandon Drury will cover first base in Schanuel's stead.

Wade is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

With left-hander Patrick Corbin on the mound for Washington, the lefty-hitting Wade will give way to platoon partner Wilmer Flores at first base in the series finale.

Goldschmidt is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Phillies, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

It's a routine day off for Goldschmidt, who has just one hit in his last four games and is sporting a .544 OPS so far this season. Alec Burleson will fill in for Goldschmidt at first base Wednesday.

Nationals manager Dave Martinez said after Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Giants that X-rays on Gallo's left wrist returned negative after the 30-year-old was hit by a pitch in his final plate appearance, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Gallo went 0-for-3 to drop his season-long batting average to .167 before he reached base in the eighth inning, when he was struck by a Taylor Rogers pitch. He was able to run the bases after being hit by the pitch, so his postgame X-rays may have just been administered out of an abundance of caution. Before an off day Thursday, the Nationals will face the Giants on Wednesday in an afternoon game, so Martinez could look to give Gallo the day off just to allow any lingering soreness in the slugger's wrist to subside.

Encarnacion-Strand went 2-for-5 with two runs scored in Tuesday's 9-5 loss to the Brewers.

Encarnacion-Strand is fighting a slump and entered the night with a .136 average after a 1-for-20 stretch. Cincinnati needs better from the player that bats third in the order. The silver lining is that Encarnacion-Strand's underlying numbers indicate some bad luck (.206 BABIP). His average stands at .163 following Tuesday's two-hit night, but Statcast has him at an expected average of .245.
