Torkelson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Royals.

Torkelson put the Tigers ahead 2-1 with a 408-foot homer in the fourth inning and later added a single in the sixth. The 25-year-old has hit safely in seven of his past 10 games, though he's managed just three extra-base hits, three RBI and five runs scored in that span. For the season, he's slashing .244/.337/.479 with 27 homers, 69 RBI, 70 runs scored and two steals across 522 plate appearances.

Vaughn is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants.

Vaughn will get a well-earned day off Saturday against San Francisco as Jake Bauers fills in at first base. Vaughn had started 27 consecutive games at first base, slashing .320/.383/.563 with seven home runs and a 9:16 BB:K during that stretch. Although he's expected to remain Milwaukee's primary first baseman, off days could come more frequently as Bauers, and eventually Rhys Hoskins (thumb), are added to the fold.

Bernabel will bat second and play first base Saturday against the Pirates.

Bernabel was struck in the face by a baseball during pregame infield drills Thursday. He was scratched from Thursday's lineup and kept on the bench Friday. However, Bernabel has been given the green light to start Saturday's contest. He has eight hits in his last 22 at-bats (.364) with a 3:1 BB:K.

Guerrero (hamstring) isn't in the starting lineup for Saturday's contest against Miami.

Guerrero is out of the lineup for Toronto's fourth straight game while he battles left hamstring inflammation. The star first baseman participated in pre-game warmups Friday, taking batting practice and doing sprints at about 80 percent effort, but manager John Schneider indicated that the team wants to take a cautious approach with Guerrero's return, per Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca. "Trying to learn from past injuries of that nature, we definitely can't afford to lose him for an extended period of time, so we're being cautious, yeah, but at the same time trying to get him back to him," Schneider said of Guerrero on Friday. Meanwhile, the slugger suggested that he's not in for a long-term absence, saying, "It's going to be soon, but we've got to take it day by day." Ty France has stepped in at first base while Guerrero has been out and is starting there again while batting sixth Saturday.

France went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Friday's win over the Marlins.

Getting the start at first base in place of Vladimir Guerrero (hamstring) and batting sixth, France rapped a two-run single in the first inning. He's started three straight games, going 3-for-10, but Guerrero could rejoin the starting nine as soon as Saturday, bumping France back into a bench role. Over 54 plate appearances since being acquired from the Twins at the trade deadline, France is slashing .327/.389/.429, but he's still looking for his first homer in a Blue Jays uniform.

Horwitz went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a double, two RBI and two runs scored Friday against the Rockies.

Horwitz smacked an RBI double in the second inning and followed that up with his fifth home run of the season four frames later. He hasn't hit for much power this season, as he has a .132 ISO across 303 plate appearances, but Horwitz now has four extra-base hits across his last five starts. Horwitz is putting together a respectable second half, as he's hitting .300 with four homers, 20 RBI and 17 runs scored across 31 games since the All-Star break.

Tellez started at first base and went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-3 win over Cleveland.

Tellez swatted his third home run in 24 games since being promoted to the majors July 18. He appears to be in line for regular plate appearances in the short term, as Friday's start at first base was his fourth in the five games since the Rangers placed Jake Burger (wrist) on the 10-day injured list. All of his starts have come against right-handers.

Naylor went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 win over the Athletics.

Naylor delivered a go-ahead solo shot in the seventh inning. Prior to Friday, Naylor had gone just 1-for-19 with six strikeouts over his previous six games, and he hadn't homered since Aug. 10 versus the Rays. The first baseman is up to 16 long balls, 70 RBI, 62 runs scored, 22 stolen bases and a .282/.346/.450 slash line through 118 contests. He's been consistently strong at T-Mobile Park and should benefit from facing a weak pitching staff in this weekend's series versus the Athletics.

X-rays on Mayo's right hand came back negative after he was hit by a pitch in Friday's loss to the Astros, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Mayo took a 97-mph fastball from Bryan Abreu off his right hand in the bottom of the ninth inning. Consider him day-to-day headed into Saturday's matchup with Houston.

Pasquantino went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Friday's 7-5 loss to the Tigers.

Pasquantino extended his home-run streak to five games with a two-run blast off Will Vest in the ninth. It was the first baseman's seventh homer in 10 contests, and he's now racked up 13 extra-base hits and 24 RBI so far in August. For the season, he's slashing .263/.324/.475 with 27 homers, 89 RBI, 54 runs scored and a steal in what's shaping up to be a career year.
