Duran is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.

Duran will head to the bench for the series opener, but he had started in each of the last three contests and should be in store for an uptick in playing time after Marcus Semien (foot) was deactivated Saturday with a likely season-ending injury. Josh Smith will cover second base Monday, but if the Rangers prefer to use the versatile Smith in the outfield while Evan Carter (wrist) is on the shelf, Duran could have a fairly clear path to making regular starts at the keystone.

Kavadas will start at first base and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Rangers.

Kavadas will remain in the lineup for a second straight game and could see the bulk of the starts at first base against right-handed pitching after the Angels placed Nolan Schanuel (wrist) on the 10-day injured list Sunday. Over his 114 career plate appearances in the majors, Kavadas owns an unremarkable .180/.281/.320 slash line and a monstrous 38.6 percent strikeout rate, but the 26-year-old had displayed excellent pop at Triple-A Salt Lake this season (23 home runs in 105 games).

The Dodgers activated Hernandez (elbow) from the 10-day injured list prior to Monday's game against the Reds.

Hernandez isn't listed in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener, but he'll see his first action since July 5 over the next few days now that he's made a full recovery from left elbow inflammation. Manager Dave Roberts noted Monday that Hernandez will draw starts Tuesday and Wednesday, per Jon Paul Hoornstra of Newsweek.com. Hernandez was hitting just .083 with one home run, four RBI and two runs scored in his last 10 appearances before going down with the injury.

Kurtz is absent from the lineup for Monday's contest versus the Tigers.

It's a routine day off for Kurtz, who went hitless during a series in Seattle this past weekend. Brett Harris is starting at first base and batting seventh in Kurtz's stead.

Gonzalez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Gonzalez appeared to briefly displace Abraham Toro on the depth chart at first base about a week ago, and even though Toro has since been outrighted to Triple-A Worcester, the Red Sox's recent signing of Nathaniel Lowe appears to have prevented Gonzalez from settling into an everyday role. The 28-year-old will hit the bench for the Red Sox's third straight matchup versus a righty starter (Tomoyuki Sugano) and looks as though he'll be limited to the short side of a platoon with Lowe for the foreseeable future.

Guerrero (hamstring) will start at designated hitter and bat third in Monday's game versus the Twins.

Guerrero made a pinch-hitting appearance during Sunday's loss to Miami, but he'll be making his first start in a week as he comes back from left hamstring inflammation. The Blue Jays will ease him back into action at DH, while Ty France stays in the starting nine at first base.

Wagaman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Sunday's win over the Blue Jays.

The infielder took Kevin Gausman deep in the third inning, giving Wagaman nine long balls on the season. He isn't getting consistent playing time, but Wagaman's taking advantage of his opportunities in August, slashing .250/.345/.583 over 55 plate appearances with half of his 12 hits (two triples and four homers) going for extra bases.

Triolo went 2-for-2 with a three-run home run and a stolen base during Sunday's 4-0 win over the Rockies.

Triolo has homered in back-to-back games, a streak that immediately followed a homer drought that lasted over two months and spanned 85 at-bats. Sunday's long ball was Triolo's fifth of the season, and his stolen base put his season total at nine. Triolo has a hit in each of his last five games, going 8-for-17 (.471) with four extra-base hits during that stretch.

Steer went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and a double in Sunday's 6-1 victory at Arizona.

The Cincinnati first baseman stretched his team's lead to 5-1 in the eighth with a 397-foot, three-run long ball off Diamondbacks reliever Juan Burgos. Steer entered this contest mired in a second-half slump, slashing an anemic .179/.279/.330 with six extra-base hits in 123 plate appearances over 31 games since the All-Star break. Through 478 total plate appearances, the 27-year-old has produced a .236/.302/.397 slash line with six steals, 62 RBI and 53 runs scored.

Torkelson went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 10-8 loss to the Royals.

Torkelson launched his 28th home run of the season and second in as many days in the seventh inning. The Detroit first baseman is closing in on his career high of 31 home runs, which he tallied in 159 games back in 2023. He's recorded his 28 long balls this year in just 126 games, giving Torkelson a good chance at setting a new highwater mark if he stays healthy.
