  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Returns from paternity leave

The Dodgers reinstated Freeman from the paternity list Tuesday, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.

After spending two days away from the team to spend time with his family, Freeman will return to the Dodgers for the start of their three-game set in San Francisco. Ryan Ward was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

Brewers' Andrew Vaughn: Resumes swinging bat

Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Tuesday that Vaughn (hand) has started swinging a bat, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports.

Vaughn is just over three weeks removed from left hamate bone surgery and has finally taken a significant step in the rehab process. He will require some rehab at-bats before rejoining the Brewers' active roster, but it's unclear when he might be ready to begin a rehab assignment. Vaughn hopes to be activated by early-to-mid May.

  • Ben Rice 1B | NYY

Yankees' Ben Rice: Another start versus lefty

Rice will start at first base and bat third in Tuesday's contest against the Red Sox.

It's left-hander Connelly Early on the bump for the Red Sox, marking the lefty-swinging Rice's fourth straight start versus a southpaw. In the Yankees' first three games against lefties this season, Rice started just once. The 27-year-old will carry a four-game home run streak into Tuesday's series opener.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Guardians' Rhys Hoskins: Exiting starting lineup

Hoskins is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros.

Hoskins had started each of the previous four tilts, but he'll begin Tuesday's contest on the bench. Chase DeLauter is getting a turn in the designated-hitter spot, and George Valera will patrol right field.

  • Sal Stewart 1B | CIN

Reds' Sal Stewart: Knocks out eighth homer

Stewart went 2-for-4 with a double, a two-run home run and a stolen base during Monday's 6-1 win over the Rays.

Stewart hit his eighth homer of the season in the first inning, a 424-foot shot to center. His eight homers are tied for third in MLB, behind just Aaron Judge and Yordan Alvarez. After belting five homers in just 58 plate appearances during his 2025 MLB debut campaign and adding eight through 98 PAs this season, Stewart is impressively leaving the yard once every 12 trips to the batter's box thus far in his brief MLB career.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Mariners' Josh Naylor: Notches first steal of season

Naylor went 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and a stolen base in a loss to the Athletics on Monday.

Naylor knocked in a run in the first inning with his first double of the season. He added two more knocks (including another double) to finish with his first multi-hit game of the campaign. To add to his big night, Naylor stole his first base of the season following an eighth-inning single. He was a big surprise in the theft department when he collected a career-high 30 stolen bases during the regular season last year, but this was Naylor's first attempt in 2026. That's partly because he hasn't gotten on base much -- entering Monday, he was batting just .146 with a .231 OBP. Naylor is still at a poor .174 batting average even after Monday's big effort, but he may be turning things around, as he's gone 6-for-10 with two walks over his past three contests.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Remains hot with three more hits

Guerrero went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored against the Angels in a 5-2 victory Monday.

Guerrero put Toronto on the board with a two-run blast in the third inning. He added two singles to notch his second three-hit game in as many days and extend his hitting streak to 11 contests. Guerrero is tied for fourth in the majors with 29 hits through 22 games and has posted a .354/.442/.488 slash line with two home runs, 12 RBI, 11 runs and one stolen base.

  • Royals' Jac Caglianone: Slugs first homer Monday

Caglianone went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 7-5 loss to the Orioles.

Caglianone snapped his homer drought, demolishing a Kyle Bradish fastball over the center-field wall in the second inning for his first long ball of the season. After a quiet first two weeks, the 23-year-old outfielder is starting to find his rhythm, hitting safely in six straight games and raising his OPS to .750 through 20 contests.

  • Nick Loftin 1B | KC

Royals' Nick Loftin: Drives three RBI off bench

Loftin went 2-for-2 with a double, three RBI and a walk in Monday's loss to the Orioles.

Entering for Michael Massey in the seventh inning, Loftin reached safely in all three plate appearances, highlighted by a bases-clearing double as the Royals attempted a comeback in the 12th inning. Recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Monday as the corresponding move for Jonathan India (shoulder) being placed on the injured list, Loftin's positional versatility should help him earn opportunities, though most of his starts are likely to come at second base against southpaws.

  • Astros' Christian Walker: Hot start continues Monday

Walker went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run, a double and two additional runs scored in Monday's 9-2 win over the Guardians.

It was a breakout performance by Walker, who had entered Monday in a brief 0-for-15 cold spell over his prior five games. Following a disappointing debut season with Houston a year ago, Walker is off to an excellent start in 2026. The 35-year-old first baseman is slashing .274/.367/.536 with 12 extra-base hits, 18 RBI and 16 runs scored across 98 plate appearances.
