Encarnacion has been bothered by a sore middle finger on his left hand. An off day on Monday will give Encarnacion two days to rest the finger.

Abreu hit two solo shots to have his fifth career multi-home game and first since June 27 of last season.

Goldschmidt snapped a 0-for-15 slump to start August with a three-hit performance Wednesday against the Nationals. He has a .339/.453/.580/1.033 slash line through 106 games.

Rays SS Asdrubal Cabrera OK after getting struck in head
Rays shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera left Wednesday's game against the White Sox in the bottom of the 10th inning after getting hit in the head by catcher Curt Casali's throw down to second base.
He has diagnosed, however, only with a contusion and is expected to be fine, per the Tampa Bay Times.
The incident happened as Adam Eaton was stealing second base. Cabrera was charged with an error as the baseball went into the outfield and Eaton advanced to third base.
Cabrera stayed in the game for two intentional walks before Tim Beckham took over at shortstop.
It was a disappointing end to the day for Cabrera, who went 4 for 5 with two RBI. He had his 21st double in the game.
Tampa is off Thursday before beginning a series with the Mets on Friday.

Rizzo had his first four-hit game since April 9 of last season.
