Higgins (forearm) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Wednesday, Gordon Wittenmyer of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

The backup catcher is now set to miss an extended time with his strained right forearm, keeping Jose Lobaton in that role until Austin Romine (wrist) returns near the end of the month. It remains unclear exactly how long Higgins will be sidelined.

Tellez is out of the lineup Wednesday versus the Yankees.

The 26-year-old sat out Tuesday against left-hander Jordan Montgomery, and he's on the bench again Wednesday with righty Gerrit Cole pitching for New York. Tellez is 7-for-32 (.219 average) with a home run, two doubles, three RBI and two runs through 11 games in June.

Gittens went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-5 victory over Toronto.

Gittens connected on his first big-league hit in the fourth inning, crushing a 439-foot solo homer to tie the score 2-2. The long ball was a memorable moment in what has otherwise been a rough start to Gittens' big-league career, as he has gone 1-for-17 with seven strikeouts thus far.

Voit (oblique) hopes to return to the major-league roster Tuesday, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Voit transferred his rehab assignment from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to Double-A Somerset on Tuesday, and he could return to the majors in time for the series opener against the Royals. The first baseman said his return depends on how he feels after appearing in more rehab games. He's scheduled to play a full nine-inning game Wednesday, and he'll get some additional at-bats in the days that follow. Voit has been out since May 25 due to a Grade 2 oblique strain.

Naylor isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Naylor had gone just 1-for-14 with a double, two runs, a walk and three strikeouts across the last four games. Bobby Bradley will serve as the designated hitter while Yu Chang starts at first base.

Diaz went 2-for-4 in a loss to the White Sox on Tuesday.

Diaz's pair of singles led to the Rays' only multi-hit effort on night when Dallas Keuchel and a pair of relievers mostly flummoxed Tampa Bay's offense. Diaz continues to sport an elite on-base percentage (.393) for the season, and he boasts an impressive .324 average (12-for-37) with a home run and six RBI across the 46 plate appearances covering his last 10 games.

Cronenworth isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Cronenworth will get a breather after he went 1-for-7 with a run across the last two games. Ha-Seong Kim will start at second base and bat seventh.

France went 3-for-4 with a solo homer, a double, a hit-by-pitch and two RBI in Tuesday's 10-0 win over the Twins.

France was a triple short of hitting for the cycle. He doubled his first time up and later singled in a run before ending his night with a solo shot to left. The long ball was his first since April 18, snapping a 42-game homeless drought. France is now slashing .257/.352/.388 with four homers, 24 RBI and 28 runs scored across 247 plate appearances.

Walker went 2-for-5 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 9-8 loss to the Giants.

Walker, who has been held out of the lineup against right-handers at times, has started seven of the last eight contests, including four of five against righties. The first baseman is 8-for-28 with three extra-base hits, five RBI and seven runs scored as a starter during that stretch. The average is still a meager .212, but he's making better contact.

Goldschmidt went 2-for-4 with a home run and an additional RBI in Tuesday's win over the Marlins.

Goldschmidt was the main reason why the Cardinals came out on top in this low-scoring affair, as he was involved in all the offense St. Louis would be able to muster. The star first baseman plated a run in the sixth following an RBI single that scored Jose Rondon, and he later delivered the game-winning home run with a walkoff bomb off Yimi Garcia in the ninth. Goldschmidt, who's now recorded back-to-back two-hit performances, has hit safely in eight of the Cardinals' last 10 games.
