Votto went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Mets.

Votto crushed a fastball from Stephen Nogosek to dead center field in the third inning, giving the Reds the lead. It marked the Canadian slugger's first home run since July 3. He now has six hits in his last three games and has seen his average tick up to .262, just five points shy of his season-high .267.

Gittens didn't start Tuesday's game against the Phillies due to Achilles soreness, Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports.

Catcher Rob Brantly was pressed into starting at first base Tuesday with Gittens sidelined and DJ LeMahieu (illness) also scratched from the lineup. Gittens should be considered day-to-day with the severity of the Achilles issue unclear.

Alonso went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Reds.

It looks like Alonso is still riding his Home Run Derby high, as the Mets' first baseman pushed his hitting streak to five games Tuesday night. His solo home run off Wade Miley in the first inning marked his second consecutive game with a homer.

O'Hearn hit a two-run home run during his only at-bat in Tuesday's win over the Brewers.

O'Hearn came in to pinch hit in the seventh and gave the Royals the lead by leaving the yard against Hunter Strickland. The long ball was the seventh of the year for the 27-year-old, who is averaging .219/.254/.398 across 40 games.

Calhoun is not in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Pirates and lefty Tyler Anderson.

Calhoun has just two hits in his last 17 at-bats and he will now try to reset with a left-hander taking the ball for Pittsburgh.

Olson went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk, two RBI and two runs during Tuesday's win over the Angels.

Olson got the scoring started by taking Jose Suarez deep for a 353-foot shot in the fourth inning. It was his second long ball in as many games and his team-leading 25th of the year. The 27-year-old has now collected at least one hit in 11 of his last 13 games, raising his season slash line to .291/.379/.588.

Diaz was a late scratch from Tuesday's game against the Orioles due to neck spasms, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Diaz was removed from Monday's game because of the neck issue, and it sounds like the problem re-emerged prior to first pitch Tuesday. Ji-Man Choi will start at first base, and a further update on Diaz should become available later Tuesday.

Smith is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Reds, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.

Smith went 1-for-5 with a solo homer -- his 10th of the season -- during Monday's victory in extra innings, and he'll take a seat Tuesday with southpaw Wade Miley pitching for Cincinnati. Kevin Pillar will work in left field in his place.

Bohm (illness) has been cleared to return to the team but has yet to be activated from the COVID-19 injured list, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Bohm tested positive for COVID-19 shortly before the break. While he's been medically cleared, the Phillies want to make sure he's back in baseball shape following the illness before activating him off the injured list. When exactly that will happen remains to be seen, but it's unlikely he misses too much more time.

Blandino (hand) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment next week, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

The 28-year-old broke his right hand when he was hit by a pitch back on June 4. Having missed two months, Blandino will likely require a fairly lengthy rehab assignment, so he figures to be ready for activation around Aug. 4, when he'll be eligible to come off the 60-day IL. The infielder hit .200 with five RBI in 70 at-bats before the injury.
