Rockies' Warming Bernabel: Diagnosed with concussion
Bernabel was placed on the 7-day concussion injured list Tuesday, Kevin Henry of The Denver Gazette reports.
Bernabel suffered a head injury in Monday's contest against the Dodgers, which is now understood to be a concussion. The 23-year-old will be forced to miss at least a week of action while recovering. In the meantime, Michael Toglia was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday to replace Bernabel on the active roster.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Called up Tuesday
Toglia was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, Kevin Henry of The Denver Gazette reports.
Toglia will return to the big leagues after being sent down to Albuquerque on Aug. 3 and batting .367 with six home runs, 17 RBI and 16 runs scored over 25 contests following his demotion. The 27-year-old will replace Warming Bernabel (concussion) on the major-league roster after Bernabel was placed on the 7-day injured list Tuesday.

Cardinals' Willson Contreras: Back from suspension
Contreras (suspension) was added to the active roster and will bat fourth while starting at first base Tuesday against Seattle.
Contreras' six-game suspension was reduced to four games following an appeal, which will allow him to return for the second game of St. Louis' series against the Mariners. The 33-year-old's .786 OPS represents his worst mark since he joined the Cardinals in 2023, though he went 5-for-18 with a homer and five RBI across his last five games before serving his suspension.

Padres' Luis Arraez: Omitted from lineup Tuesday
Arraez is not in the lineup for the Padres on Tuesday versus the Reds.
Arraez is sitting for the second time in five games, which is rare for the first baseman that plays almost every game. In the three games he played since last starting on the bench, the 28-year-old went 3-for-14 with two walks and two RBI. Ryan O'Hearn has the start at first base Tuesday while Gavin Sheets serves as the designated hitter.

Steer isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres.
Steer will get a chance to regroup Tuesday after going 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts during Monday's series opener. Sal Stewart will fill the void at first base and bat second.

Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Activated from 10-day IL
The Brewers activated Hoskins (thumb) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.
Hoskins has missed more than two months of action with a left thumb sprain but is ready to go after slashing .275/.371/.471 with two home runs over 14 rehab games. The 32-year-old is no longer at the top of the Brewers' first-base depth chart following the emergence of Andrew Vaughn, but Hoskins should still see a decent number of starts between first base and designated hitter.

Giants' Dominic Smith: Pops fifth homer
Smith went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 11-5 win over the Diamondbacks.
Smith's blast tied the game at 4-4 in the third inning. The first baseman has hit safely in his last nine games, going 13-for-37 (.351) with two homers and 11 RBI during the streak. That surge has him up to a .291/.341/.427 slash line with five long balls, 33 RBI, 26 runs scored, 12 doubles and two stolen bases over 220 plate appearances this season in a strong-side platoon role.

Braves' Matt Olson: Goes yard in win
Olson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 4-1 win over the Cubs.
Olson swatted his 23rd homer of the season and his second of the month of September. Since the start of August, the All-Star first baseman is batting .307 with 16 extra-base hits, 12 RBI, 21 runs scored and one stolen base over 36 games. Olson has also hit safely in 11 of his last 13 outings.

Rockies' Warming Bernabel: Makes early departure
Bernabel was removed from Monday's game against the Dodgers due to an apparent head injury, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
Bernabel made a diving attempt at a foul ball in the bottom of the first inning and was ultimately able to make it off the field under his own power. The Colorado training staff was spotted evaluating Bernabel's head before he walked off. The severity of the injury is unclear at this time.

Diamondbacks' Tyler Locklear: Placed on 10-day IL
Locklear was placed on the 10-day injured list with left elbow inflammation Monday.
Locklear was set to be absent from the lineup Monday against the Giants, and it is now understood to be the result of a left elbow issue. The first baseman will now be sidelined until at least Sept. 19, and it's possible that he is going to be forced to miss the rest of the season. In a corresponding move, infielder Tim Tawa was called up from Triple-A Reno on Monday.
