Calhoun went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk Friday at the Twins.

Calhoun's first blast of the year gave the Angels a lead in the seventh inning in a game they'd go on to lose. He's been warming up lately as he's posted multiple hits in each of his last three contests with three of those hits going for extra bases. In addition, he's now hit safely in each of his last seven games.

Colabello is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Red Sox.

Justin Smoak will draw the start against Rick Porcello, sending Colabello to the bench against a right-hander for the second time in three days. Colabello hit .321 in 333 at-bats last year, but he's off to a miserable start this season with one hit and six strikeouts in 19 at-bats.

Colabello is back in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees.

Justin Smoak took Colabello's spot at first base Wednesday against with Michael Pineda on the hill for the Yankees, but Colebello will draw back in for Thursday's series finale. Colabello does appear to be on the on the wrong end of a first base platoon with Smoak and Edwin Encarnacion, however, so Thursday's start could be his only one for a few days.

Calhoun went 3-for-5 with two RBI and scored a run in Wednesday's win against the Athletics. He's now got a hit in eight of the team's nine games this season, including seven in a row.

The 28-year-old outfielder is now slashing .387/.441/.452 through the team's first nine games of the season. After hitting a career-high 26 homers a year ago, Calhoun has yet to smack one out in 2016. He's obviously seeing the ball very well in the early going, so it's only a matter of time before he goes yard.

Colabello is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Yankees.

With the right-handed Michael Pineda on the mound, Justin Smoak will get the nod at first base over Colabello. Colabello is just 1-for-15 this season after hitting .321 last year and could find at-bats hard to come by if he continues to struggle.

Cron is back in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the A's, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.

After getting the day off Tuesday, Cron will draw back into the fifth spot in the order Wednesday against Oakland left-hander Eric Surkamp. Cron has slumped to start the season, going 1-for-23 through his last six games. He'll take over at first base Wednesday while Albert Pujols will serve as the Angels' DH against Surkamp.

Cron is out of Tuesday's lineup against the A's, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Cron is in a major slump to start the year (2-for-26), so Ji-Man Choi will get the start at DH with Albert Pujols getting a second straight start at first base Tuesday.

Olson has played exclusively in right field at Triple-A Nashville through five games this season. He is hitting .125/.263/.250 with two doubles, three walks and three strikeouts in 19 plate appearances.

Olson had been a first base prospect for the majority of his professional career, but a switch to the outfield started to take place last season, and the A's are continuing down that path in 2016. This makes Olson a bit more interesting in dynasty leagues, as his plus power and on-base skills would be a bit more valuable with outfield eligibility. The position change could also expedite his ascension to the big leagues if he can get hot at the plate.

Solano went 0-for-4 in his first game with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday.

Solano was dealing with a lower-back injury in the spring, but now that the regular season is underway it appears as though it's behind him. He'll serve as organizational depth in the infield, likely spending the majority of the season in the minors.

Colabello remains out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet reports.

Manager John Gibbons opted to use Josh Donaldson at designated hitter for all three games of the series, resulting in Darwin Barney entering the lineup at third base and Edwin Encarnacion moving from DH to first base. The Blue Jays will likely want to reduce Encarnacion's time in the field as the season wears on, so there should be plenty of opportunity for Colabello to see a steady diet of at-bats at some point. However, with no starts under his belt for three straight games, Colabello can probably be fastened to the bench in most season-long leagues heading into the upcoming week.
