    Angels right fielder Kole Calhoun hit a solo home run and drove in three runs in Friday's win over Oakland. 

    Calhoun went 2 for 4. He hit his sixth home run and drove in his 32nd run.

    Chris Carter homers in Astros' win

    Astros first baseman Chris Carter went 2 for 3 and hit a solo home run in the fifth inning of Friday's win over Seattle. 

    Carter hit his first home run since June 3, and his tenth of the year. He walked once and scored twice. Carter now has 31 RBI on the season.

    Jose Abreu hits two-run homer for White Sox

    White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning of Friday's loss to Tampa Bay. 

    Abreu went 2 for 4 in the game. He went deep for the third straight game and 12th time this year. He drove in two runs for the third straight game as well, giving him 39 on the year. 

    "I'm working every day trying to hit the ball to the opposite field," he said. "I feel good about that right now. It was a good pitch. I was able to hit it well."

    White Sox 1B Jose Abreu blasts 11th home run of the season

    White Sox firts baseman Jose Abreu slammed his 11th home run of the season during his team's 4-1 win over the Astros on Wednesday.

    Abreu went 2 for 4 with a two-run shot to right field in the eighth inning, providing his team with a couple of insurance runs.

    Abreu is hitting .283 with 11 home runs and 37 RBI in 212 at-bats this season.

    Angels' Kole Calhoun drives in four runs in Tuesday's win

    Angels right fielder Kole Calhoun had team-high four RBI to propel the Angels to a 8-2 win over the Rays on Tuesday.

    Calhoun went 3 for 5 at the plate with one run scored. His first RBI came in the first inning when he singled in Erick Aybar. He drove in four more on a single in the sixth and a single in the eighth inning.

    Over his last eight games, Calhoun is 7 for 30 with five RBI.

    White Sox 1B Jose Abreu hits 10th home run of season Tuesday

    White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu connected off Dallas Keuchel in the sixth inning for a two-run home run to help send the White Sox to a 4-2 win over the Astros on Tuesday.

    Abreu finished the game 2 for 4 with two RBI. Over his last 12 games, Abreu is 14 for 49 with three home runs and 12 RBI.

  • Blue Jays' Chris Colabello has longest hit streak in AL in 2015

    With one hit in Monday's 11-3 win against the Marlins, Blue Jays outfielder Chris Colabello extended his hitting streak to 18 games, which gives him the longest streak in the AL this season.

    The previous AL best was 17 games by Jose Abreu, and Colabello is just one game behind Wilson Ramos, who has the longest hit streak in the majors this season.

    Collabello is batting .338 with a .372 on-base percentage, .527 slugging percentage and .899 OPS during the hitting streak. He also has three home runs, five doubles, 14 RBI, 11 runs, three walks, 16 strikeouts and one stolen base.

    Adam LaRoche returns to DH for White Sox

    After starting eight straight games at first base, Adam LaRoche returned to his normal role of designated hitter in the White Sox lineup on Monday. 

    LaRoche will start his 37th game at DH. 

    Jose Abreu, who has started the last five at DH, returns to first base, where he'll make his 40th start. 

  • Rays' Asdrubal Cabrera (elbow) out of lineup Sunday

    Rays shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.

    Cabrera was believed to have hyperextended his elbow in Saturday's game, the Tampa Tribune reports. However, manager Kevin Cash said on Sunday that there was nothing wrong with Cabrera and that he simply wanted to get the shortstop a pair of days off in a row with the team not playing Monday. Nick Franklin will get the start at shortstop with Cabrera sidelined.

    The Rays are road favorites (-129) in Seattle, per VegasInsider.com.

    After a day off Saturday, Chris Carter is back in the lineup at first base for the Astros in Sunday's series-finale against the Blue Jays. 

    Carter began the year in a slump but has hit .323 over his past 10 games. For the season, he's hitting .200.
