Wilkins was designated for assignment Wednesday.

Wilkins, who was claimed off waivers by the Orioles in the beginning of September, was DFA'd after the team acquired outfielder L.J. Hoes from the Astros on Wednesday. The 27-year-old first baseman did hit 18 home runs and 70 RBI with the Dodgers Triple-A affiliate at Oklahoma City, but he wasn't expected to provide much more than organizational depth in the coming years.

Calhoun became arbitration-eligible by the margin of one day, the Orange County Register reports.

Calhoun will be eligible for arbitration this year, meaning he'll earn millions more than the $600,000 minimum salary he would have otherwise been paid this season, plus he'll get a fourth year of arbitration instead of three.

Colabello is in the lineup for Friday's ALDS matchup with the Rangers, Sportsnet's Shi Davidi reports.

After being limited to bench duty in Game 1, Colabello will take Justin Smoak's spot in the lineup for Game with southpaw Cole Hamels getting the start for the Rangers. He will hit sixth in the Blue Jays' batting order.

Indians first baseman Carlos Santana went 2 for 3 with a double and a solo homer in Saturday's 2-0 victory over the Red Sox.

Santana posted his third two-hit outing in the last four games, and has four RBI over the first two games of the season-ending series against the Red Sox. Although he did suffer a drop in homers this season, Santana has now matched last season's 85 RBI and has crossed the plate 72 times, four more than his total in 2014.

White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu went 2 for 4 with two RBI in a loss to the Royals on Thursday.

The two RBI now give the Cuban 101 on the season and he's making history, as one of the first players to have two 30-100 season in their first two years. Imagine how good his season could have been if the White sox lived up to the lofty expectations they had at the beginning of the season. One more bat to protect Abreu could do him a world of good next year and will only raise his already sky-high value.

Astrosfirst baseman Chris Carter went 1 for 3 with a three-run homer and a walk in a 7-6 win over Seattle on Wednesday.

Carter appears to be getting hot, as he has five homers in his past nine games. This is when the Astros need a hot stretch, but it won't salvage his season.

Carter is batting .196, but he does have 24 home runs in 378 at-bats. He simply can't stick around the majors batting below .200, and he'll need to fix that in the offseason if he wants an everyday job next season.

White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu went 1 for 5 with a solo home run in a loss to Kansas City on Wednesday.

It's hard to say 30 home runs and 99 RBI could be quiet, but that seems to be the case with Abreu. In any case, he holds those fantastic numbers to go along with a formidable .291 average. It appears the Cuban's rookie season was no fluke, and he should be a top-20 pick in Fantasy for years to come.

Rays shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera went 1 for 3 with a tie-breaking two-run home run, a walk and two runs scored in a 4-2 victory over the Marlins on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old has been hot with the bat as of late, going 10 for 26 (.385) over the last seven games, with two doubles, two homers, five RBI and six runs scored over that period.

Although he has not been able to duplicate the success of his .356 August, Cabrera nevertheless has now totaled 16 RBI in September, his highest figure in that category for any month of the 2015 season.

Astros 1B Chris Carter went 2 for 3 with his 22nd homer of the season during Sunday's 4-2 win over Texas.

Carter has homered in four of his last six games for the Astros and while he's no longer their everyday starting first baseman, he's certainly getting hot at the right time. Overall, the 28-year-old is hitting .195/.305/.414 over 370 at-bats this season.

Angels first baseman C.J. Cron went 1 or 3 with a solo home run in a 3-2 win over the Mariners on Saturday.

Cron continues his recent power-surge, as he has two homers and five RBI over his last three games. The young righty has put together a pretty nice season, as he has 16 homers and 49 RBI in just 347 at-bats. If he plays a full 162 games develops as an everyday player next year, Cron would be a good candidate for 25-plus home runs and an average in the .275 range. Those numbers alone would make him must own in almost every format.
