Islanders' Simon Holmstrom: Considered day-to-day
Holmstrom (upper body) is day-to-day and won't play against Buffalo on Tuesday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
Holmstrom will miss at least one game, but it's unclear if he will be ready for Friday's matchup against Philadelphia. He has accounted for 19 goals, 39 points, 92 shots on net and 43 blocked shots across 73 appearances this season. Anthony Duclair will replace Holmstrom in Tuesday's lineup against the Sabres.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Back in net Tuesday
Sorokin will guard the road crease Tuesday's matchup against the Sabres, per Stefen Rosner of NHL.com.
Sorokin will look to bounce back after allowing a career-high seven goals Monday against the Penguins. Overall, the 30-year-old netminder has had a strong season with a 28-19-2 record, a 2.58 GAA and a .910 save percentage across 49 appearances this season. He'll be tasked with a difficult job Tuesday against the Sabres, who rank seventh in the NHL with 3.43 goals per game this season. Sorokin remains a solid option to start in fantasy despite the difficult matchup.

Islanders' Brayden Schenn: Nets another goal
Schenn scored a goal, added three hits and went minus-2 in Monday's 8-3 loss to the Penguins.
Schenn has four points over his last two outings to bounce back from a four-game slide. The 34-year-old center is up to 36 points over 73 contests this season, including eight points in 12 games since he was traded to the Islanders from the Blues. He's added 110 shots on net, 160 hits, 40 blocked shots, 66 PIM and a minus-26 rating.

Islanders' Anders Lee: Strikes on power play in loss
Lee scored a power-play goal, added three hits and went minus-2 in Monday's 8-3 loss to the Penguins.
Lee has done well with a move to the top line, earning two goals and three assists over his last six contests. The 35-year-old winger is now at 40 points (eight on the power play) over 75 outings this season. He's added 181 shots on net, 80 hits, 34 blocked shots, 34 PIM and a plus-2 rating. While he hasn't been at his peak performance, Lee is still an effective depth scorer in fantasy.

Islanders' Adam Boqvist: Two-point effort Monday
Boqvist picked up two assists, one on the power play, in Monday's 8-3 loss to Pittsburgh.
The 25-year-old blueliner helped set up second-period tallies by Anders Lee and Mathew Barzal as the Isles grabbed a 2-0 lead before imploding. It was Boqvist's first multi-point performance in 26 games during a season in which he's struggled just to get into the lineup, and he's still looking for his first goal of 2025-26.

Islanders' Calum Ritchie: Two helpers Monday
Ritchie notched two assists in Monday's 8-3 loss to the Penguins.
The 21-year-old rookie had a hand in second-period tallies by Mathew Barzal and Brayden Schenn as the Isles briefly took a 3-1 lead before imploding. Ritchie has a tidy four-game point streak going, and over his last 12 contests, he's collected four goals and 10 points while skating in a top-six role.

Islanders' Mathew Barzal: Two points against Pens
Barzal produced a goal and an assist in Monday's 8-3 loss to the Islanders.
After a scoreless first period, New York actually jumped out to a 3-1 lead thanks in large part to Barzal's efforts, but the wheels came off completely after that. The 28-year-old has been productive in March, delivering two goals and 13 points in 15 games, and Barzal needs one more goal to reach 20 on the season, and three more points to get to 70 for the third time in his career.

Islanders' David Rittich: Needed in relief Monday
Rittich gave up one goal on three shots after replacing Ilya Sorokin midway through the third period of Monday's 8-3 loss to the Penguins.
It was a brutal night for the Islanders overall, and Rittich didn't escape unscathed after replacing Sorokin between the pipes with just over 12 minutes left. Rittich's last three outings have all been abbreviated -- two in relief, plus a March 24 start in which he got the hook himself after just one period, and through six appearances in March, he's gone 2-1-0 with a rough 4.18 GAA and .862 save percentage. Despite that recent track record, he'll likely get the nod Tuesday in Buffalo as the Isles try to hang onto a playoff spot.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Slips against Penguins
Sorokin gave up seven goals on 28 shots before being replaced midway through the third period by David Rittich in Monday's 8-3 loss to Pittsburgh.
It was the worst performance of the season for Sorokin, who allowed just four goals on 86 shots over his prior four outings combined. March hasn't been kind to the veteran netminder, and his Vezina hopes may be fading -- he's been tagged for at least five goals three times this month, managing a 6-6-0 record over 12 appearances with a 2.95 GAA and .896 save percentage.

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Leaves ice first Monday
Sorokin was the first goalie off the ice Monday, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports, indicating he'll be between the pipes at home versus Pittsburgh.
Sorokin will be making his 12th appearance in the Islanders' last 13 contests, having posted a 6-5-0 record, 2.50 GAA and one shutout along the way. While the Russian backstop figures to continue seeing a heavy workload across the last eight games, New York does have three back-to-backs over that stretch, so David Rittich will see plenty of opportunities as well.

Islanders' Ondrej Palat: Lacking offense in March
Palat's point drought reached 13 games in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Panthers on Saturday.
Palat had four points over his first nine games with the Islanders after getting traded from the Devils. He's gone cold since then, and a drop into the bottom six, as well as a loss of power-play time, explains the decline in production. The veteran winger doesn't have to score to be effective -- he's defensively sound and plays a physical game. Palat is at five goals, 14 points, 79 shots on net, 120 hits, 63 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating over 73 appearances this season.

Islanders' Casey Cizikas: Tacks on goal in rally
Cizikas scored a goal on four shots, added two hits and went plus-2 in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Panthers.
Cizikas had the fifth goal of the second period for the Islanders. The tally ended his six-game point drought. Cizikas continues to operate as the fourth-line center, and he's earned 17 points over 73 contests this season, matching his point total from 82 regular-season outings a year ago. Cizikas also has 66 shots on net, 140 hits, 52 blocked shots, 18 PIM and a minus-3 rating.

Islanders' Emil Heineman: Pots goal in win
Heineman scored a goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Panthers.
Heineman has enjoyed a rebound in scoring this month with six goals and an assist over 14 contests in March. He's up to 21 goals, 30 points, 167 shots on net, 231 hits, 49 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating over 74 appearances. Heineman still has some work to do to round out his production, but considering he's shooting 12.6 percent this season and has a good shot, this level of production should be his baseline going forward.

Islanders' Simon Holmstrom: Strikes on power play Saturday
Holmstrom scored a power-play goal on three shots in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Panthers.
Holmstrom's go-ahead goal at 14:52 of the second period stood as the game-winner. He has five goals and an assist over his last eight games while filling a middle-six role. This was the winger's first power-play contribution since Jan. 28 versus the Rangers. Holmstrom is up to 19 goals, 39 points, 92 shots on net, 42 blocked shots and a plus-12 rating over 72 appearances, a slight drop in productivity compared to his 45-point effort in 75 regular-season outings a year ago.

Islanders' Matthew Schaefer: Two more helpers Saturday
Schaefer notched two assists, one on the power play, in Saturday's 5-2 win over Florida.
The teenage phenom helped set up tallies by Brayden Schenn and Simon Holmstrom as part of a five-goal second period for the Islanders. Schaefer has piled up four goals and 15 points in 14 March contests, and his 56 points (22 goals, 34 assists) through 74 games on the season has tied the franchise scoring mark for a rookie defenseman, set by Stefan Persson in 1977-78.

Islanders' Marc Gatcomb: Two points in Saturday's win
Gatcomb produced a goal and an assist in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Panthers.
The 26-year-old fourth-liner snapped a 12-game point drought and a 36-game goal drought with the performance, as he had a hand in the Islanders' first and last tallies during a five-goal second period. Gatcomb has just two goals and six points in 42 contests on the season, but he has dished 175 hits -- tying him for 25th in the NHL despite the fact that he didn't become a regular part of the Isles' lineup until December.
