Devils' Jack Hughes: Scores lone goal in loss
Hughes scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Ducks.
Hughes saw his four-game point streak end in Saturday's win over the Kings, but he was back on the scoresheet Sunday with a third-period tally. The 24-year-old has been playing to his full potential early in 2025-26 with 10 goals and 16 points over 13 appearances. He's added 44 shots on net, eight blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating. Hughes should be a lock for virtually all fantasy lineups through offense alone.

Devils' Jake Allen: Loses to Ducks
Allen stopped 25 of 28 shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Ducks. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.
Allen has picked a bad time to lose consecutive games, allowing a total of eight goals on 56 shots. Jacob Markstrom is healthy and was dialed in versus the Kings on Saturday, so it may not be long before Allen is back in more of a firm backup role after starting for much of October when Markstrom was hurt. Through eight outings, Allen is 5-2-0 with a 2.48 GAA and a .904 save percentage. The 35-year-old should still see a decent share of starts to keep Markstrom from being overworked. The Devils are in action just twice over the next week, with tough home matchups against the Canadiens on Thursday and the Penguins on Saturday on the docket.

Devils' Connor Brown: Not suiting up in Anaheim
Brown (undisclosed) will not be an option for Sunday's road game versus the Ducks, according to Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site.
Head coach Sheldon Keefe said that Brown is doing better but is still day-to-day, and the team doesn't anticipate him being out for much longer provided that his recovery continues to trend positively. This is the last game of New Jersey's road trip, so Brown will have multiple days to work his way back to full strength ahead of Thursday's game against Montreal.

Devils' Jake Allen: Starting against Anaheim
Allen will start Sunday's road game against Anaheim, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
Allen's five-game winning streak came to an end in San Jose on Thursday when he allowed five goals on 28 shots (.821 save percentage) en route to a 5-2 loss, but he'll start in the second half of a back-to-back set Sunday. The Ducks have been a formidable opponent this year, ranking seventh in the NHL with 3.60 goals per game. Despite Thursday's struggles, Allen has been sharp this season, going 5-1-0 with a 2.39 GAA and .906 save percentage over seven appearances.

Devils' Dennis Cholowski: Collects helper in season debut
Cholowski registered an assist, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Kings.
Cholowski made his season debut Saturday, stepping into the lineup for Seamus Casey, who was a healthy scratch. The 27-year-old Cholowski had 10 points over 39 appearances between the Devils and the Islanders in 2024-25, so there's a little scoring potential for him. The veteran blueliner is on a one-way contract in 2025-26 -- there's no benefit for the Devils to stash him at AHL Utica, but he's best positioned to serve as a rotational option on the third pairing rather than being a lineup regular.

Devils' Brian Halonen: Nets first NHL goal
Halonen scored a goal in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Kings.
Halonen was scratched for the first two games of the Devils' road trip, but he drew back in for Connor Brown (undisclosed) in this contest. Halonen's tally at 3:12 of the second period was the first of his NHL career in his 12th appearance, and it stood as the game-winner. The 26-year-old has added four shots on net, 18 hits, five PIM and a minus-1 rating over eight games this season while filling in as a fourth-liner on occasion. While he's finally on a scoresheet in the NHL, he shouldn't be expected to be a consistent scorer going forward.

Devils' Nico Hischier: Tallies early in win
Hischier scored a goal, added two PIM and went plus-3 in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Kings.
Hischier hadn't scored since Oct. 16 versus the Panthers, though he had six assists over the seven games between goals. The 26-year-old snapped the slump early Saturday, scoring on a Luke Hughes feed at 1:22 of the first period. Hischier is up to three goals, 11 points, 26 shots on net, 14 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating over 12 appearances. He's a lock for top-six minutes as the Devils' best two-way forward, and he should continue to produce at a pace just under a point per game, which is on par with his performance from the last three years.

Devils' Dawson Mercer: Another two-goal effort Saturday
Mercer scored a pair of shorthanded goals, including one into an empty-net, in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Kings.
Mercer has five goals over the last three games, including consecutive two-goal outings. He had both of the Devils' insurance tallies in the third period. Mercer is off to a fantastic start in 2025-26 with eight goals, five helpers, 23 shots on net, 15 blocked shots, 10 hits and a plus-8 rating over 12 contests. While his pace will cool off eventually, he may not be kept under the 40-point mark this year as he has been the last two regular seasons, making him a worthy addition to fantasy rosters in many formats.

Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Stellar under heavy pressure
Markstrom stopped 43 of 44 shots in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Kings.
Markstrom faced 40-plus shots for the second game in a row, but he came away with a much better result this time after allowing eight goals in his previous outing. He limited the Kings to an Andrei Kuzmenko goal midway through the third period. Markstrom improved to 3-2-0 with a 4.17 GAA and an .875 save percentage over five outings this season. The Devils signed the Swedish netminder to a two-year extension on Friday, so they clearly believe he can get back on track and be a part of their success in the near future. Fantasy managers should do the same -- he's an effective starter when he's at his best, though he may have his workload managed to avoid further injuries. Look for Jake Allen to get the nod Sunday in Anaheim.

Devils' Jacob Markstrom: In goal Saturday
Markstrom will protect the road goal versus the Kings on Saturday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
Markstrom was rocked for eight goals against the Avalanche on Tuesday in his return from a lower-body injury. He'll have an easier matchup in Saturday's contest, though the Kings haven't lost in regulation over their last seven games.

Devils' Connor Brown: Ruled out Saturday
Brown (undisclosed) will not play Saturday in Los Angeles, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
Brown will miss his first game of the season. He is off to a very good start with five goals and an assist in 11 appearances. Brian Halonen is slated to enter the lineup in place of Brown. The 31-year-old Brown might return Sunday in Anaheim.

Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Inks two-year extension
Markstrom signed a two-year, $12 million contract extension with the Devils on Friday.
Markstrom will pull in the same salary as he has had since the 2020-21 campaign on this new deal. The 35-year-old netminder will also continue to share the crease with Jake Allen for the next two seasons. Markstrom is off to a rough start in 2025-26, going 2-2-0 with a 5.13 GAA and an .830 save percentage over four appearances. However, he's an experienced starter and should get himself on track eventually.

Devils' Connor Brown: Questionable for Saturday
Brown (undisclosed) is questionable for Saturday's clash against the Kings, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports Friday.
Brown has five goals and six points in 11 appearances with New Jersey this season. If he can't play Saturday, then Brian Halonen will probably draw into the lineup.

Devils' Dougie Hamilton: Earns two power-play assists
Hamilton registered two power-play assists, four shots on goal, two hits and a minus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Sharks.
Hamilton's offense has spiked over the last week with three goals and three assists across his last four games. The 32-year-old defenseman had a hand in both of Dawson Mercer's tallies Thursday. Hamilton has seven points (four on the power play), 30 shots on net, 16 blocked shots, 14 hits and a plus-2 rating across 11 outings this season. He'll continue to offer plenty of scoring upside in a top-four role with power-play time.

Devils' Dawson Mercer: Scores both goals in loss
Mercer scored two power-play goals on four shots and went minus-2 in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Sharks.
Mercer has been back on the second line for a couple of games since Juho Lammikko entered the lineup. The 24-year-old Mercer has been productive from every spot he's played in so far, and he's potted three goals over his last two games. For the season, he has six goals, 11 points (four on the power play), 20 shots on net, 14 blocked shots, 10 hits and a plus-6 rating through 11 appearances. If Mercer's hot start is here to stay, he'll provide excellent fantasy value for the rest of the campaign.

Devils' Jake Allen: Poor showing in San Jose
Allen stopped 23 of 28 shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Sharks.
The Sharks jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Devils got on the board. Allen had won his first five decisions this season, but this was a much poorer showing, and it comes just after Jacob Markstrom's disastrous return from a lower-body injury in Colorado. Allen is at a 5-1-0 record with a 2.39 GAA and a .906 save percentage through seven outings. The next few games could be pivotal for determining the workload split in the Devils' crease. They visit the Kings on Saturday and the Ducks on Sunday, so expect both Allen and Markstrom to each draw a start to close out this road trip.
