  • Buccaneers' Benjamin Morrison: Still nursing hamstring injury

Morrison (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday.

The rookie second-rounder suffered a hamstring injury during Tampa Bay's Week 4 loss to Philadelphia. He hasn't been able to practice since the injury and was ruled out for Week 5 against the Seahawks. Morrison would have to return to practice in at least a limited capacity in order to have a shot at playing against the 49ers on Sunday. He has logged five solo tackles and one pass defense through the first three regular-season games of his NFL career.

  • Buccaneers' Jamel Dean: Making progress with hip injury

Dean (hip) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.

Dean sustained a hip injury during the Bucs' Week 4 loss to the Eagles. He was unable to practice before being ruled out for Week 5 against the Seahawks, so his ability to participate in Wednesday's session -- albeit in a limited capacity -- is a step in the right direction for the 2019 third-rounder. Dean's practice participation over the next two days will indicate his chances of playing against the 49ers on Sunday.

  • Buccaneers' Zyon McCollum: DNP on Wednesday

    McCollum (thumb) didn't practice Wednesday.

McCollum suffered a thumb injury during the Buccaneers' Week 4 loss to the Eagles. He was able to play against the Seahawks in Week 5 but has since undergone a procedure for the injury, which puts him in jeopardy of missing Sunday's game against the 49ers. McCollum's practice participation over the next two days will shed light on his odds of playing Sunday, but his absence would open the door for Kindle Vildor, Josh Hayes and rookie second-rounder Benjamin Morrison (hamstring) to see additional snaps on defense.

  • Buccaneers' Lavonte David: Still nursing knee injury

David (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.

David has been managing lower-body injuries since training camp, though he's played in each of the first five games of the regular season and has logged 34 tackles (17 solo), including 1.5 sacks, and two pass defenses (one interception). David should be cleared to play against the 49ers on Sunday unless he suffers a setback in the coming days.

  • Buccaneers' Mike Evans: DNP on Wednesday

Evans (hamstring) was a non-participant at Wednesday's walkthrough.

Evans has yet to log official practice reps since sustaining a moderate left hamstring strain Week 3, but coach Todd Bowles told Greg Auman of Fox Sports on Wednesday that the wide receiver is "coming along. He's healing. I can't tell you how fast or when, but he's healing, and he's working, trying to get back (as) fast as he can." Fellow WR Chris Godwin (fibula) joined Evans on the sidelines to begin Week 6 prep, meaning the health of two of the Buccaneers' top three options at the position are compromised at the moment. Evans has a pair of practices remaining this week to potentially prove the health of his hamstring ahead of Sunday's game against the 49ers.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: No return to practice

Irving (shoulder) didn't participate in Wednesday's walkthrough.

His absence comes as no surprise after multiple reports last week suggested Irving wasn't expected to play in Weeks 5 or 6. Rachaad White filled in with an 81 percent snap share and 18 touches in a Week 5 win at Seattle, producing 71 total yards and a pair of touchdowns along the way. Early signs point to a similar role for White this Sunday against San Francisco, although the Buccaneers haven't said anything to rule Irving out just yet.

  • Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: Dealing with injured fibula

Godwin (fibula) didn't participate in Wednesday's walkthrough.

The Buccaneers were without Godwin, fellow WR Mike Evans (hamstring) and No. 1 RB Bucky Irving (foot/shoulder) to kick off Week 6 prep. Godwin has two games under his belt after recovering from the dislocated left ankle that he suffered Week 7 of last season, but his returns (6-52-0 on 14 targets) have been minimal. With a new injury in tow, his status bears watching as the week goes on to get a sense of his availability for Sunday's contest against the 49ers.

  • Buccaneers' Zyon McCollum: Undergoes thumb procedure

Head coach Todd Bowles told reporters Wednesday that McCollum had a procedure done after sustaining a thumb injury in the Week 4 loss to the Eagles, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

Bowles noted that McCollum's status for Sunday's matchup against the 49ers will come down to the end of the week, but he was spotted with his left arm in a sling Wednesday, which suggests he's likely trending in the wrong direction. McCollum's practice participation throughout the week is expected to provide the best indication of whether he can suit up in Week 6. If he's unavailable, Josh Hayes is likely to take over as one of Tampa Bay's top outside corners.

  • Buccaneers' SirVocea Dennis: Records eight tackles vs. Seattle

Dennis recorded eight tackles (four solo) during the Buccaneers' 38-35 win over the Seahawks on Sunday.

Dennis played 56 of 61 defensive snaps (91.8 percent) and finished Sunday's contest with the third most sacks on the Buccaneers behind Lavonte David and Jacob Parrish (nine each). Dennis has recorded at least eight tackles in three of the first five games of the regular season and is up to 33 stops (23 solo) and two pass defenses in 2025.
