Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Won't return Monday
Olivier has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday's matchup against Washington due to an upper-body injury.
Olivier was injured during the first period and didn't come out for the second. The 28-year-old recorded one block and one hit in 4:49 of ice time before departing the game. The Blue Jackets' next game is at home Wednesday versus Toronto.

Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: Injured against Caps
Werenski sustained an upper-body injury during Monday's game versus the Capitals and will not return.
Werenski didn't come out for the start of the third period and was ruled out shortly thereafter. The star blueliner logged four shots on goal and one block in 17:36 of ice time prior to exiting the contest. There will be a big void to fill on Columbus' blue line if Werenski is forced to miss any time. He should be considered day-to-day ahead of Wednesday's home matchup versus the Maple Leafs.

Blue Jackets' Kirill Marchenko: Unavailable Monday
Marchenko (upper body) won't play against Washington on Monday after a muscle tightened up on him during the morning skate, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.
The Blue Jackets don't anticipate it being a long-term injury for Marchenko, but he will be evaluated further after the team returns to Columbus on Tuesday. The 25-year-old forward has amassed eight goals, 22 points, 65 shots on net, 15 blocked shots and 19 hits in 22 appearances this season. Due to Marchenko's absence, Yegor Chinakhov will move up to the top six, and Zach Aston-Reese will likely occupy a fourth-line role.

Blue Jackets' Brendan Smith: Inks two-way deal
Smith signed a one-year, two-way contract with Columbus on Tuesday.
Smith was with the Blue Jackets on a PTO during training camp but was cut loose before the start of the season. Instead, the blueliner linked up with AHL Cleveland and has evidently shown the organization enough to warrant a one-year contract. The veteran will link up with the team for Tuesday's practice session, but he is far from a lock to be in the lineup versus Toronto on Wednesday.

Blue Jackets' Kirill Marchenko: Hurt during morning skate
Marchenko (undisclosed) left the morning skate with an apparent injury, and it's unclear if he will play against Washington on Monday, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
Marchenko is undergoing an evaluation, and his availability may not be known until after pregame warmups. He has compiled eight goals, 22 points, 65 shots on net, 15 blocked shots and 19 hits in 22 appearances this season. If Marchenko is unavailable to play against the Capitals, Zach Aston-Reese will likely return to the lineup, while Yegor Chinakhov will probably occupy a top-six role.

Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: Tending twine Monday
Merzlikins will defend the road crease against Washington on Monday, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
Merzlikins has seen limited playing time recently, starting just once in the Blue Jackets' last eight games while Jet Greaves has served as the primary netminder. However, Merzlikins will have a chance to tend the twine Monday against a tough opponent, as the Capitals rank seventh in the league with 3.23 goals per game this season.

Blue Jackets' Luca Pinelli: Three points in Saturday's win
Pinelli scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Cleveland's 5-3 win over Hershey on Saturday.
Pinelli has scored in three straight games, earning five of his 10 points on the year in that span. He's added 35 shots on net, 18 PIM and a minus-2 rating over 13 AHL appearances in his first full professional season. The 20-year-old winger will get as much time as he needs to develop in Cleveland before pushing for an NHL job with the Blue Jackets.

Blue Jackets' Miles Wood: Nets goal Saturday
Wood scored a goal and added two hits in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Red Wings.
Wood is making the most of his chance on the second line, potting two goals over the last three games. The 30-year-old winger is up to six tallies on the season, but he's yet to earn an assist while adding 28 shots on net, 13 hits and a minus-4 rating over 16 appearances. Wood was limited to eight points in 37 regular-season outings in 2024-25, so he's well on his way to a bounce-back campaign.

Blue Jackets' Adam Fantilli: Stays hot with power-play tally
Fantilli scored a power-play goal on three shots and went minus-2 in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Red Wings.
Fantilli continues to fill the net -- he has seven goals over his last eight games. The 21-year-old center opened the scoring in Saturday's contest at 13:18 of the first period. Fantilli is up to nine goals, 17 points, 53 shots on net, 23 hits, 13 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating over 22 outings. He has two power-play points this campaign, but with his offense trending up recently, he should remain on the first line and top power-play unit.

Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: Two-point effort Saturday
Werenski scored an even-strength goal on a team-high seven shots on net and added a power-play assist in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Red Wings.
The star blueliner helped set up an Adam Fantilli tally in the first period before giving Columbus a 3-1 lead midway through the third himself, but Detroit came storming back late. Werenski extended his point streak to six games with the performance, racking up three goals and 10 points during that stretch.

Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Downed by Wings in OT
Greaves made 29 saves in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Red Wings.
The Blue Jackets took a 3-1 lead midway through the third period on a Zach Werenski tally, but Greaves couldn't deny a late rally by the home side, which got capped by Alex DeBrincat's winner 1:50 into the extra frame. Greaves has still gone seven straight starts without a regulation loss, posting a 4-0-3 record with a .901 save percentage over that stretch as he seizes control of the top job in the Columbus crease.

Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Starting in Detroit
Greaves will defend the road net against the Red Wings on Saturday, per Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers.
Greaves has won his last two outings, stopping 56 of the 61 shots he has faced. He has a 7-4-2 record with a 2.72 GAA and a .906 save percentage through 13 appearances this season. Detroit sits 25th in the league with 2.86 goals per game in the 2025-26 campaign.

Blue Jackets' Andrew Strathmann: Two helpers Friday
Strathmann posted two assists in the University of North Dakota's 6-1 exhibition win over the US National Team's U-18 squad Friday.
Strathmann has shown virtually no scoring in his NCAA career with just five points in 41 career appearances. This game won't count in his official stats since it was an exhibition. The 20-year-old blueliner plays bigger than he is, but without more offensive production, it's tough to see the 98th overall pick from 2023 having a long NHL career.

Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: Racks up three more assists
Werenski registered three assists, six shots on net, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Maple Leafs.
Werenski had a hand in one goal by Dmitri Voronkov and two more by Adam Fantilli as the Blue Jackets leaned on their top players to get this win. During a five-game point streak, Werenski has posted two goals and six assists, as well as 21 shots on net. The 28-year-old defenseman is playing like a star again this year, racking up six goals, 13 helpers, 78 shots, 31 blocks and a plus-9 rating through 21 appearances.

Blue Jackets' Brendan Gaunce: Called up by Columbus
Gaunce was recalled from AHL Cleveland on Friday.
Gaunce began the 2025-26 regular season in Cleveland, where he's recorded four goals, two assists and eight PIM over 12 appearances. He hasn't yet appeared in the NHL this year but will join the Blue Jackets' roster after Luca Del Bel Belluz was sent down Friday.
