Blues' Joel Hofer: Between pipes against Rangers
Hofer will tend the twine on the road versus the Rangers on Monday.
Hofer has been splitting the workload with Jordan Binnington of late, featuring in two of the Blues' last five outings. In those appearances, the 25-year-old Hofer hasn't exactly impressed, posting a 0-1-1 record with seven goals allowed on 62 shots. Still, it seems the starting job is up for grabs in St. Louis, and a win Monday could improve Hofer's chances of getting more opportunities in the crease.

Hofer stopped 25 of 28 shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Flyers.
Hofer was beaten late in the second period, midway through the third and at the 3:51 mark in overtime, as the Flyers came back from a 2-0 deficit to win the game. This was Hofer's third straight loss, a stretch in which he's gone 0-1-2 with a 3.55 GAA and .880 save percentage.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Facing Flyers
Hofer will be between the visiting pipes in Philadelphia on Thursday, Adam Kimelman of NHL.com reports.
Hofer is 2-4-1 with one shutout, a 4.04 GAA and an .867 save percentage across nine games this season. It's by far his worst season at the NHL level, parts of five seasons. The Flyers are averaging 2.61 goals per game, 29th in the NHL.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Yields four goals in loss
Hofer allowed four goals on 33 shots in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Golden Knights.
Hofer gave up two goals in the first period and a tally in each of the last two frames before the Blues got on the board. The 25-year-old netminder has allowed 10 goals over his last four outings, going 1-1-1 in that span. For the season, he's at a 2-4-1 record with a 4.04 GAA and an .867 save percentage through nine appearances. Jordan Binnington hasn't been that much better in the starting role, so the Blues' crease could continue to be a battle for playing time until one goalie or the other gets on a hot streak. The Blues are beginning a five-game road trip in Toronto on Tuesday, but there are no back-to-back sets scheduled.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Facing Golden Knights
Hofer will patrol the home crease against Vegas on Saturday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Hofer will get the second half of the team's back-to-back after Jordan Binnington played in Friday's 6-5 shootout loss to Philadelphia. The 25-year-old Hofer is coming off a 26-save effort in last Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to Seattle. He has a 2-3-1 record this season while allowing 26 goals on 192 shots in eight appearances. Vegas ranks 14th in the league with 3.19 goals per game this campaign.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Win slips away Saturday
Hofer stopped 26 shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Kraken.
The 25-year-old was the busier of the two netminders on the night, facing 30 shots to Philipp Grubauer's 19, but Hofer still had the Blues in position to win until Chandler Stephenson snuck a shot through traffic to tie it with just two seconds left in regulation. He then had little chance on Shane Wright's OT winner after a defensive breakdown by Brayden Schenn during 3-on-3 play. Hofer was making his second straight start as St. Louis searches for some consistency in the crease, and through four appearances in November he's gone 1-1-1 with a 2.58 GAA and .918 save percentage, numbers which could give him the edge on Jordan Binnington for now.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Starting Saturday
Hofer will patrol the home crease against Seattle on Saturday, Matthew DeFranks of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Hofer is coming off a 28-save performance in Thursday's 3-0 shutout win over Buffalo. He has earned a 2-3-0 record in seven appearances this season while surrendering 22 goals on 162 shots. Seattle sits 29th in the league with 2.62 goals per game this campaign.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Third career shutout
Hofer made 28 saves in a 3-0 win over Buffalo on Thursday.
It was Hofer's third career shutout. He got the nod after stopping 15 of 17 shots in relief of Jordan Binnington in a 6-1 loss to the Caps on Wednesday. It was Hofer's first win since Oct. 11. Both Binnington and Hofer have scuffled this season, so it feels like it's a proverbial jump ball when it comes to who's the best option. Hofer obviously jumps ahead with this performance, despite an overall line of 2-3-0, 4.08 GAA and .864 save percentage.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Starting against Buffalo
Hofer will defend the road crease against Buffalo on Thursday, Heather Engel of NHL.com reports.
Hofer hasn't been particularly sharp early in the season, going 1-3-0 with a 5.02 GAA and .836 save percentage over six appearances. However, he'll have a relatively favorable matchup against the Sabres, who are scoring 2.85 goals per game this year, which is tied for 19th in the NHL.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Needed in relief Wednesday
Hofer turned aside 15 of 17 shots after replacing Jordan Binnington midway through the second period of Wednesday's 6-1 loss to the Capitals.
Neither goalie was particularly sharp, but Hofer posted slightly better numbers, although the Blues were already in a 4-0 hole by the time he took over the crease. The 25-year-old netminder has a brutal 5.02 GAA and .836 save percentage to go with a 1-3-0 record in six appearances this season, but he should get the nod Thursday in Buffalo on the second night of a back-to-back.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Concedes three goals in loss
Hofer stopped 32 of 35 shots in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Blue Jackets.
Hofer was beaten once in each period en route to his third straight defeat, and that doesn't include the Oct. 23 matchup against Utah when he allowed three goals on six shots. Hofer hasn't won since his Oct. 11 season debut against the Flames, posting a 0-3-0 record with a 6.26 GAA and a .795 save percentage in his last four contests.

Hofer will be between the visiting pipes in Columbus on Saturday, according to Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Pummeled by Pens
Hofer stopped 20 of 25 shots in Monday's 6-3 loss to Pittsburgh, with the Penguins' final goal getting scored into an empty net.
The Blues battled to a 2-2 draw through the first period, but the game began to slip away from the visitors when Parker Wotherspoon snapped the puck past Hofer early in the second during a delayed penalty on St. Louis. The 25-year-old netminder was making his first start since Oct. 15 after Jordan Binnington had coughed up five goals in Detroit on Saturday, but Hofer fared no better. Through four appearances (three starts) on the season, Hofer has a brutal 5.80 GAA and .793 save percentage.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Slated to start
Hofer is expected to defend the road net against Pittsburgh on Monday, according to Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic.
Hofer has surrendered 10 goals on 28 shots in his last two outings, and he didn't play the entire game in either appearance. He has a 1-1-0 record across three games this season. Pittsburgh ranks seventh in the league with 3.56 goals per game this campaign.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Pulled inside 10 minutes
Hofer made three saves on six shots before being pulled from Thursday's 7-4 loss against Utah.
Hofer struggled early in the contest, allowing a goal to Ian Cole just past the three-minute mark before surrendering two goals to Logan Cooley minutes later. Luckily for Hofer, he wasn't credited with the loss as netminder Jordan Binnington also allowed three goals and surrendered the game-winning tally to Clayton Keller. Overall, the 25-year-old Hofer has struggled with a 1-1-0 record, a 6.21 GAA and a .789 save percentage across three appearances. Proceed with caution when streaming him in fantasy, as his path to success will likely be matchup dependent for the time being. Regardless, Binnington will likely see the bulk of time between the pipes for St. Louis moving forward, leaving plenty of stronger options available in fantasy than Hofer.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Gets starting nod Thursday
Hofer will patrol the home crease versus Utah on Thursday, according to Lou Korac of NHL.com.
Hofer is coming off a terrible start against Chicago on Oct. 15, as he allowed seven goals on only 22 shots (.682 save percentage) in an 8-3 loss. He was solid in his first start of the season, stopping 27 of 29 shots in Calgary. The Mammoth are tied for 15th in NHL scoring, averaging 3.00 goals per game.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Poor performance in second start
Hofer stopped 15 of 22 shots in Wednesday's 8-3 loss to the Blackhawks.
Hofer started, but he gave up four goals in the first 24:32 of the game. Jordan Binnington came into the game in the second period, but Hofer returned to the crease in the third and yielded three more tallies. Through two starts, Hofer has had mixed results, allowing a total of nine goals on 51 shots while going 1-1-0. The 25-year-old will stay in the backup role if he can't provide more consistency, though he would be a long shot to challenge Binnington's playing time anyway. It'll likely be Binnington who gets the tough home start versus the Stars on Saturday.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Expected to start Wednesday
Hofer is expected to start at home against Chicago on Wednesday, per Lou Korac of NHL.com.
Hofer stopped 27 of 29 shots en route to a 4-2 victory against Calgary in his first start of the season Saturday. He had a 16-8-3 record, 2.64 GAA and .904 save percentage in 31 regular-season appearances with St. Louis in 2024-25. Hofer is serving as the No. 2 option behind Jordan Binnington, so Hofer will probably finish the 2025-26 regular season with a workload similar to what he got last year.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Looks good in first start of season
Hofer made 27 saves in a 4-2 win over Calgary on Saturday.
It was his first start of the season. Matt Coronato had Hofer's number, putting up both Calgary snipes. The first one redirected off a Flames defender; the second beat him high glove on a break. Hofer's fantasy value comes in spot starts, as the emerging netminder continues to grow his skills behind Jordan Binnington. He does have the ability to step into the starter's role in the event of a Binner injury, so he's a good stash.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Expected to face Calgary

Hofer is looking for his first start of the campaign after Jordan Binnington turned aside 18 of 21 shots en route to a 5-0 loss to Minnesota in the Blues' opener Thursday. Hofer had an 18-8-3 record, 2.64 GAA and .904 save percentage in 31 regular-season appearances for the Blues last year. The 25-year-old Hofer is likely to get a similar workload in 2025-26 as Binnington's understudy.
