Avalanche's Gavin Brindley: Deemed week-to-week
Brindley (lower body) is week-to-week, Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette reports Saturday.
There's no firm timeline for the 21-year-old forward's return, but he will be evaluated further in a few weeks. Tristen Nielsen and Jason Polin are likely to both be in the lineup at least for Saturday's game versus the Predators. The Avalanche have made a lot of adjustments to their depth forwards via roster moves this year, so numerous players from AHL Colorado could be in the mix to help cover Brindley's absence.

Avalanche's Gavin Brindley: Not on road trip
Brindley (lower body) didn't accompany Colorado on the team's two-game road trip, Avalanche journalist Collen Flynn reported Friday.
Brindley won't be available for at least Saturday's game against Nashville and Sunday's matchup versus Chicago. However, it's unclear when he will be available to return to the lineup. He has contributed four goals, seven points, 22 shots on net and 19 hits in 18 appearances this season.

Avalanche's Gavin Brindley: Exits Thursday's game
Brindley (lower body) won't return to Thursday's game versus the Rangers.
Brindley was initially injured in the first period. He tried to tough it out at the start of the second but couldn't continue in the contest. The Avalanche are already a bit thin at forward, so Brindley's absence could be troublesome if he's out beyond Thursday.

Avalanche's Gavin Brindley: Thrives on second line
Brindley scored a goal on two shots, added an assist and doled out two hits in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Sabres.
Brindley is getting the first opportunity to fill in for Valeri Nichushkin (lower body) on the second line. It's still early, but the initial effort was promising, as Brindley helped out on a Brock Nelson tally in the first period before scoring one of his own -- the eventual game-winner -- in the second. Brindley has five points over his last four games and has earned his move into the top six through hard work. For the season, the 21-year-old is at four goals, seven points, 20 shots on net, 16 hits and a plus-3 rating over 16 appearances.

Avalanche's Gavin Brindley: Secures two-year extension
Brindley inked a two-year contract extension with Colorado on Tuesday.
Brindley missed the first two games of November because of a concussion, but he has bounced back with two goals and an assist in his last two appearances. While that level of production probably shouldn't be expected from the 21-year-old center throughout the rest of 2025-26, he should be capable of challenging for the 20-point threshold this season.

Avalanche's Gavin Brindley: Scores first game-winner
Brindley scored a goal on two shots and went plus-2 in Sunday's 5-4 overtime win over the Canucks.
Brindley got a chance on the rush as the Avalanche made a line change in overtime, and he converted on a rebound that Kevin Lankinen wasn't able to sweep away in time. This was Brindley's first game-winning goal in his career, and just his third tally overall. He has three points over two games since returning from a concussion and five points through 14 outings in a fourth-line role. He's quickly gaining trust with his energy and tenacity, which could help Brindley stick in the lineup even when the Avalanche get Logan O'Connor (hip) and Joel Kiviranta (lower body) back.

Avalanche's Gavin Brindley: Goal, assist in return
Brindley scored a goal on two shots, logged an assist, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Saturday's 9-1 win over the Oilers.
Brindley returned from a concussion that cost him two games, and he retook his spot on the fourth line. The 21-year-old is still seeing fairly limited usage, though he occasionally gets some power-play time. He's at four points, 14 shots, 12 hits and an even plus-minus rating over 13 appearances. Brindley's fantasy appeal will be limited this year unless he can work his way into a middle-six role.

Avalanche's Gavin Brindley: Nets first NHL goal
Brindley scored a goal in Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Stars.
Brindley put the Avalanche ahead 2-1 midway through the second period. The tally was his first goal and point in four NHL appearances, three of which have come to begin this season. The 21-year-old forward was acquired from the Blue Jackets in the offseason as the headlining part of the return when the Avalanche shed salary by sending Charlie Coyle and Miles Wood east. It's unclear if Brindley will stick in the lineup, but he's playing in a limited fourth-line role that offers minimal fantasy upside.

Avalanche's Gavin Brindley: Acquired with picks for veterans
Brindley, a 2027 second-round pick and a 2025 third-round selection were acquired by Colorado from Columbus on Friday in exchange for Charlie Coyle and Miles Wood, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Brindley had six goals, 17 points and 24 PIM in 52 regular-season appearances with AHL Cleveland in 2024-25. Columbus originally took Brindley with the No. 34 overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. He excelled with the University of Michigan, supplying 25 goals and 53 points in 40 outings as a sophomore in 2023-24, but he likely needs more time in the minors to develop.

Blue Jackets' Gavin Brindley: Struggling in AHL
Brindley has only one goal in his last nine games with AHL Cleveland.
Brindley starred at the University of Michigan, tallying 25 goals and adding 28 assists in 40 games in 2023-24, before inking a three-year entry-level contract. Brindley played one game at the NHL level after signing last season, logging 12:20 in the final game of the regular season, but failed to hit the scoresheet. Brindley has spent the 2024-25 campaign with AHL Cleveland, scoring five times while adding nine helpers in 28 games after missing the start of the year with a broken finger suffered during a preseason game against St. Louis.

Blue Jackets' Gavin Brindley: Activated, sent down
Brindley (finger) was taken off injured reserve and reassigned to AHL Cleveland on Thursday.
Brindley was a long shot to make the roster coming out of training camp in the first place but his broken finger certainly didn't improve his chances. The 20-year-old center has played in just one NHL game in his career thus far. Unless he puts up ridiculous numbers in the minors, Brindley figures to spend the bulk of the upcoming campaign with the Monsters.

Blue Jackets' Gavin Brindley: Suffers broken finger
Brindley was designated for injured reserve Thursday after suffering a broken finger versus St. Louis on Tuesday.
Brindley is expected to miss 4-6 weeks due to his broken finger, which would set him up for a mid-November return to action. Given his lack of NHL experience and the extended stint on the shelf, the 19-year-old natural center may have to settle for starting the 2024-25 campaign in the minors with AHL Cleveland. Without Brindley in the mix, Mikael Pyyhtia could have a shot at making the Opening Night roster.

Blue Jackets' Gavin Brindley: Scores game-winner Tuesday
Brindley scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 3-1 preseason win over the Blues.
Brindley is still in camp, competing for a bottom-six role with the Blue Jackets. The 19-year-old center netted his second goal of the preseason, scoring after getting the puck on a faceoff win by Luca Del Bel Belluz. Brindley made his NHL debut in the Blue Jackets' finale last year, but the University of Michigan product may need some time in the AHL before he's ready to be a full-time option in Columbus.

Blue Jackets' Gavin Brindley: Pens three-year pact
Brindley inked a three-year, entry-level contract with Columbus on Monday.
Brindley's contract will kick in with immediate effect, setting him up to make his NHL debut versus the Hurricanes on Tuesday. The 19-year-old center is coming off a fantastic season with the University of Michigan in which he tallied 25 goals and 28 helpers in 40 contests. While the 2023 34th overall pick will get into his first NHL game Tuesday, he's far from a lock for the Opening Night roster coming out of training camp this fall.
