Brindley (concussion) skated before Monday's practice in a non-contact jersey, Jesse Montano of Guerilla Sports reports.
Brindley sat out Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to San Jose due to the injury. It's unclear if he will be ready to play against Tampa Bay on Tuesday, but he hasn't been experiencing many symptoms. Brindley has one goal, one assist, 12 shots on net and 12 hits across 12 appearances this season.

Avalanche's Gavin Brindley: Not playing Saturday
Brindley (upper body) won't play against San Jose on Saturday, according to Corey Masisak of the Denver Post.
Brindley will miss at least one game after being injured in Friday's 4-2 win over Vegas. He has chipped in one goal, one assist, 12 shots on net and nine hits across 11 appearances this season. Brindley scored a goal in Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Stars.
Brindley put the Avalanche ahead 2-1 midway through the second period. The tally was his first goal and point in four NHL appearances, three of which have come to begin this season. The 21-year-old forward was acquired from the Blue Jackets in the offseason as the headlining part of the return when the Avalanche shed salary by sending Charlie Coyle and Miles Wood east. It's unclear if Brindley will stick in the lineup, but he's playing in a limited fourth-line role that offers minimal fantasy upside.

Avalanche's Gavin Brindley: Acquired with picks for veterans
Brindley, a 2027 second-round pick and a 2025 third-round selection were acquired by Colorado from Columbus on Friday in exchange for Charlie Coyle and Miles Wood, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Brindley had six goals, 17 points and 24 PIM in 52 regular-season appearances with AHL Cleveland in 2024-25. Columbus originally took Brindley with the No. 34 overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. He excelled with the University of Michigan, supplying 25 goals and 53 points in 40 outings as a sophomore in 2023-24, but he likely needs more time in the minors to develop.

Brindley has only one goal in his last nine games with AHL Cleveland.
Brindley starred at the University of Michigan, tallying 25 goals and adding 28 assists in 40 games in 2023-24, before inking a three-year entry-level contract. Brindley played one game at the NHL level after signing last season, logging 12:20 in the final game of the regular season, but failed to hit the scoresheet. Brindley has spent the 2024-25 campaign with AHL Cleveland, scoring five times while adding nine helpers in 28 games after missing the start of the year with a broken finger suffered during a preseason game against St. Louis.

Brindley was designated for injured reserve Thursday after suffering a broken finger versus St. Louis on Tuesday.
Brindley is expected to miss 4-6 weeks due to his broken finger, which would set him up for a mid-November return to action. Given his lack of NHL experience and the extended stint on the shelf, the 19-year-old natural center may have to settle for starting the 2024-25 campaign in the minors with AHL Cleveland. Brindley scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 3-1 preseason win over the Blues.
Brindley is still in camp, competing for a bottom-six role with the Blue Jackets. The 19-year-old center netted his second goal of the preseason, scoring after getting the puck on a faceoff win by Luca Del Bel Belluz. Brindley made his NHL debut in the Blue Jackets' finale last year, but the University of Michigan product may need some time in the AHL before he's ready to be a full-time option in Columbus.

Brindley's contract will kick in with immediate effect, setting him up to make his NHL debut versus the Hurricanes on Tuesday.
