Predators' Reid Schaefer: Pots insurance goal
Schaefer scored a goal and added two hits in Monday's 5-2 win over the Blues.
Schaefer has scored in every third game since his Nov. 28 call-up. Providing consistent offense from a fourth-line spot is hard, but he makes up for it with physical play, and the Predators' improved offense with him in the lineup bodes well for him sticking around with the big club. The 22-year-old rookie has three goals in nine games, and he's added nine shots on net, 11 PIM, 19 hits, 11 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating.

Predators' Reid Schaefer: Lights lamp Tuesday
Schaefer scored a goal, added two hits and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout win over the Avalanche.
Schaefer has produced two goals over six NHL appearances so far. His tally at 5:30 of the first period gave the Predators their first lead in this contest. The 22-year-old rookie has been limited to fourth-line minutes, which will hinder his ability to generate offense. He's added seven shots on net, seven PIM, 11 hits and seven blocked shots so far.

Predators' Reid Schaefer: First NHL goal
Schaefer scored a goal Tuesday in a 5-1 victory over the Flames.
It was Schaefer's first NHL goal. He gave the Preds a 1-0 lead early in the first period when he stuffed in a rebound of a shot attempt by Fedor Svechkov. Schaefer debuted Nov. 28, and he has played three NHL games. He was drafted 32nd overall by Edmonton in the first round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.

Predators' Reid Schaefer: Summoned from AHL
Schaefer was recalled from AHL Milwaukee on Friday.
The 22-year-old was selected at the end of the first round in 2022 by Edmonton and has yet to make his NHL debut. Schaefer was off to a good start at Milwaukee with four goals and 10 assists in 15 games.

Predators' Reid Schaefer: Leads Admirals in Friday's win
Schaefer scored twice and added an assist in AHL Milwaukee's 4-2 win over Henderson on Friday.
Schaefer's three goals this season have all come over the last two games. He's added four assists during his active four-game point streak. The 22-year-old winger, acquired from the Oilers in February of 2023, has yet to make his NHL debut for the Predators. He's up to 12 points in 13 appearances this season and had 14 points in 19 regular-season outings in 2024-25.

Predators' Reid Schaefer: Included in Ekholm trade
Schaefer, along with Tyson Barrie, a 2023 first-round pick and a 2024 fourth-round pick, were traded from the Oilers to the Predators on Tuesday in exchange for Mattias Ekholm and a 2024 sixth-round pick, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Schaefer was selected 32nd overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. He's picked up 47 points in 44 contests for a loaded WHL Seattle squad, where he'll likely remain for at least the rest of this season. Schaefer inked his entry-level deal in July, so it's possible he could get a look as a bottom-six option in camp next fall.
